- DIY faux fireplace out of foam board and a TV. This DIY cardboard fireplace is a great way to add some festive and fun Christmas decor to your space. This DIY fireplace is made from foam board sheets from the Dollar Tree and a sheet of foam insulation from Home Depot. The faux brick contact paper the fireplace is covered with is from Amazon as well as the faux wood contact paper the mantle is covered in.

Young lady, using a t.v. is simply genius!! Here I have been looking for faux flame solutions all over the internet (diy and otherwise). I am so totally impressed and thankful right now. I have a t.v. stored in my closet that I can use!! The (plus side) is I'll get not only the visuals of a real fire, but also the sound of the burning and popping a real fireplace makes. Lord, just what I've been wanting to create without having to buy an electric heater...which does not offer the actual popping sounds. Thank you so much for posting this video. My search is over! 🤗🤗☺️☺️💝💝

Thank you 😊! We never had a fireplace so we would put a fireplace channel on our TV during the holidays. It dawned on me that I could use our old TV and build a fireplace around it. We love the ambience it creates!

I found a couple of fireplace videos on Amazon and they come in truly handy since I don't have internet connection. *Plus there are a variety of scenarios I can choose from. foam board sounds like a great idea. I shall do this, I watched another video and they used mirrored paper for a silver look on accents for fire place so I am def going to be doing this. I made a cardboard box one year and it turned out pretty good but only last a few wks. This fireplace looks so good!

Hi! I am sorry but there are no plans, I made it custom as I built it.
How many foam boards did you need? I want to recreate this but I want to make sure I have enough material
I do not remember exactly how many I used. I would suggest getting 6 sheets of the white foam board from the Dollar Tree, that way you should have extra in case you need it. Hi! The fire place is built to cover an old tv that we have. So the fire is just a video playing on the tv hidden inside the fireplace.
