As someone who dresses mannequins, I can tell you it takes someone who knows style to actually do a good job. A lot of people just put clothes on it with no concept of colour and pattern and it GRINDS MY GEARS 😅

I will say that for my store a lot of the outfits we put on the models are generated by our Head Office and we just have to execute, so not a lot of creativity from the staff at the store level. But sometimes we get to do our own thing and I always find that those outfits are cuter then the planned outfits. Maybe you could do a video where you go in to a store, tell them a set of likes/dislikes and have an associate pick an outfit for you? You wouldnt need to buy it but could show the versatility of the employees styles. Thanks for all the amazing content! Your family is always a highlight in my day!

I used to work for a... relatively popular Canadian clothing chain where I was responsible for window displays and mannequins, and I think a lot of the pieces were trying to follow a mix of "seasonal" things but also trying to follow fashion trends for whatever collections are coming out. Sometimes, too, when we didn't have an item that we were supposed to use, we had to find an alternative, and it was... difficult sometimes, because what we might think is trendy/stylish might not fit the theme the mannequins were going for, lol.

I worked in a department store, and we RARELY put any real effort into the mannequin clothes. We'd change em maybe once a month, and we would just grab a decent outfit from newly in clothes, and thats it lol so it's no surprise they weren't super stylish

I just have to say, even though it will probably drowned in the sea of comments, I think it’s very nice that you respect your fiancé’s privacy and don’t put him on camera until he’s ready. That’s such a sweet gesture and really respectful to your relationship. Both my in law siblings have RUclips channels and I don’t generally enjoy myself and my kids being in their vlogs because I don’t really want them out there for the whole world to see and they respect that as well. It’s nice to have privacy in a world that is ever progressing toward sharing everything, it’s not bad and I love that people do it, it’s just not for everyone and I really respect you for respecting him. As a student studying visual merchandising, most of those mannequins made me want to cry. Whoever styled them needs some love asap. Note: this isn’t hate, there’s so much work that goes into styling mannequins and also certain rules you need to follow, so this is just a joke.
