As awful as they are, the moment where Monica showed Frank her brain scans and he just immediately lays in her lap and starts crying while she comforts him is so heartbreaking….
True even though they were both fucked up individuals they really love each other and we’re soulmates Frank crying knowing the woman he probably has only ever loved truly is dying
@@farzaslasher422 facts, when Frank realizes she’s gone hurt too. Him calling her “Mon” and begging for her to come back/wake up made me cry like a baby even though they’re such bad people.

@@farzaslasher422Monica was too mentally unstable to love anyone. This why she turned to drugs, to cope with her insanity. She had very few moments of clarity but when she did, she tried her best to show love. Had Frank not fallen for Monica he would’ve ended up even more successful than his brothers since he was highly intelligent. Unfortunately, history repeated itself with the kids especially, with Lip. Since he is also highly intelligent yet he wasted his potential and ended up having a kid with a woman who is also mentally unstable.

Debbie is a Terrible mom with a capital T, she put franny in danger, kept her around drugs and drug users, risked going to jail her entire childhood, handed her around like a communal hood baby, and harassed her baby daddy’s wife for money after Derek died, and so many other things I can’t even think of right now except like punching a homeless lady while wearing franny on her chest to continue begging on a street corner in downtown Chicago when she was a newborn

Loves them so much he chose to keep having kids & intentionally abandoning them despite being self aware enough to know she'd leave them with her abusive ex. She was a shit human. She knew she was.
This was awesome. But, Monica just handed them a very good reason to remove the child from the mother's custody😂.
Actually, they would have to explain to the courts why _they_ (not the child's father, but _they_) have the child with them without the mother's consent and without a court order already in place deeming _both parents_ unfit. So, Monica just handed them a reminder of the law and a warning not to try that shit again.
Actually, It is called kidnapping!! Also, some states do not have grandparent rights!

Monica was a horrible mom, but she DID love her kids. She LOVED them so much. But she was her own worst enemy, as well as theirs, before they became their own. She had major problems that made her a toxic and broken human and she knew it and she really did know that being away from her kids was better than being with them. She knew she was bad for them. The best thing she ever did for them was abandon them.
Exactly. I pitied her more than hated her. She was so mentally ill and fucked up, if she had stayed she would've just caused more trauma and issues for the family.
People keep saying she should have stayed and been a mother, but that was impossible for her.... plus look at Frank, he stayed, but he was still a complete burden on the family, and for every step forward there was at least three steps back.

When you don’t know how to love and care for yourself and still CHOOSE to force into existence a dependant who is FORCED to depend on you, that’s the opposite of love.

I think Monica wanted to love her kids, but had such a skewed perception of reality that she didn't know what love really looked or felt like. She cared about them, but I don't know if between the untreated mental illness, the brain damage, and ungodly amounts of drugs and alcohol would allow her to actually love them.
That’s true when you put it like that it makes it so sad but also shows not everyone should be parents especially ppl like Monica and Frank
@deliaalvis2630 I agree however, she did have them and it was best for her to leave than to put her crap off on them! People like her have kids so someone will love them, but they don't think about the fact that they're too sick and too toxic to love the kids the way she should have. Shit is so sad but it's the reality of this type of illness on top of drug and alcohol use.
I loved how Monica and Frank both thanked Fiona for all her hard work.

She’s sadly had more than her fair share of court hearings on custody issues, which is why she’s got the bylaw #s and wording down pat…
This was me when my abusive ex tried to get full custody of our son. He did this for no other reason than he was mad at me for leaving him. Not surprisingly, his attempts failed. The judge saw right through him. I about did this when he tried all that though. He warned me when I was pregnant that if I tried to leave him, he would try to get full custody and would keep dragging me back to court simply because he could. He also threatened to call CPS and make false claims in order to get our son taken away from me. He said to me, you mark my words, if you ever leave me, you will never see your son again. I thought I was going to have to go here.
What I love so much about Frank and Monica, is that whenever something happens, or whenever something happens, their first reaction is always something about themselves. For example, when Debbie said she had a kid, Monica's first reaction after confirming is "I'm gonna be a grandma!" Not "what's their name?" "When?" "Is it a boy or a girl?" It's how it affects Monica's world.
Same goes for Frank. They can't see that people do things that aren't to directly either spite, help, or get in their way.
Monica was sick but she did love her kids

I don't wanna be a paragraph polly but 1) Tanya is a hypocrite and 2) what she and Derek's mom did has to be some form of kidnapping bc they decided just one day while Debbie left her with Derek's mother to spend time with franny that it would be OK to withhold her daughter from her
It's sad because Franny would've been far better off with them than with Debbie.
But they didnt have legal rights to the baby. Since the mom still had custody, those women could be arrested for kidnapping Franny.

That's what i was thinking, with enough luck Franni maybe could have gotten out of that environment. After all, all Debbie did afterwards was leaving her child alone and expect somebody else to take care of her.

I do think both of them are horrible people, but it does let you see every now and then that they love their kids, they just love drugs and their lifestyle more. They never really wanted to change.
And the scene where Frank curls up in Monica’s lap when she tells him she is dying is really sad.
