    Renting an LE this week, getting 51mpg in 3 days of driving. Drives very smooth and gives a nice shove from the electric motor when merging or passing.

      I think is cool you can drive a base trim and feel like it's a huge penalty. You get the same shove regardless. Maybe even a little more.

    I'm not a big fan to Toyota, but in their defense, I rent a lot a vehicles when traveling to film, and the Camry I got in one of my rentals, was the only vehicle that had no issues with any of the safety features. The Ranger I got in NC was flat out dangerous if I tried to use lane keep or adaptive cruise. Lane keep tried to jerk me back into the lane when I had to swerve to keep from getting sideswiped from someone changing lanes into my lane on the freeway. Jerked me back so hard it almost went into a tailspin. Adaptive cruise would come up on someone and nearly rear end them before it would slam on the brakes, it would drop back and rinse and repeat. The Chevy Impala I had in Texas, blew a fuse while driving at night and I had no tail lights while driving on the 2 lane FM roads (in Texas FM is a paved farm road). Until I got pulled over I had no idea I had no tail lights as there was no warning that they weren't on. All I knew is that every time a truck would come up on me they would nearly rear end me before they changed lanes and passed me. People drive really fast in Texas. The Jeep Grand Cherokee I had in Mississippi only had auto headlights for the brights, and if I was on any road that had even the slightest bit of light, I couldn't use the brights.

    The base model without those huge garish wheels and trying to be something the car is not in a sport sedan it’s a comfort sedan the LE is perfect and much better mileage, quieter ride, smaller wheels and smoother ride is the main thing thing for me

    • @anthonyc1883
      @anthonyc1883 26 дней назад +5

      I absolutely agree. For the first time in my car-buying life I'd for sure go for the base model, for the better mileage and smoother ride. I was really looking forward to finding an LE as my new car but sadly, that front end is a deal killer. I live in the suburbs, with occasional trips into the city where tight parallel parking on the street is common, and simple bumps by other drivers into my front end is gonna do a number on that lattice grille, and probably pretty darn quickly, too. And then I'll end up hating the car.

    • @glassrockpurple154
      @glassrockpurple154 25 дней назад +1

      I bought an LE FWD with conv and cold weather packages. I agree with everything you said except quiet ride. It has a lot of road noise very un-Camry like. I hope switching out the goodyears in a year will improve it. I had a 21 LE hybrid for work and the engine is noticeably quieter now but I do notice bumps a bit more, slightly less soft suspension. I can hyper-mill this thing and get over 60mpg if I drive like grandma.

    • @In-obscurity-n7j
      @In-obscurity-n7j 4 дня назад

      @@glassrockpurple154Definitely switching out the Goodyears for something like a Michelin will greatly reduce that road noise. I noticed that Toyota shipped out camrys with just about every brand of tire available. Most tire experts will tell you the Goodyears are probably the noisiest of the major brands. My SE has Hankooks. When reviews were all showing the more expensive Continental pro-contacts. 'Not a deal-breaker I still thought it was BS. We have a 22 Civic sport touring. And every single one of those cars were all shipped with the same tires being shown in the reviews.

    I totally agree with Roman. If I will buy 2025 Camry I will put my money for an LE (With Convenience package) Because the goal of having a Camry is the value for money. You are getting the most reliable car and very efficient and the LE this year has a lot to offer compared to previous years. If I have 40k to spend on a car I will not buy Camry. No point of spending hat much money on Camry I will rather buy very low mileage certified used Mercedes C class for example. because if I can afford to use 40k (do not forget you will also add taxes) I don't really care much about fuel efficiency because you already paid the difference :-)

    Thank you,Tommy & Roman for another great review. The Camry is even more compelling to buy now, with the AWD available thru all models as you said. That, combined with great gas mpg is nearly unbeatable in an ice car.
    For the life of me, I don’t know what is the great attraction of SUV’s and CUV’s over cars. More room for people and things, presumably, but there’s a great imbalance now. Corvette, Cadillac, and Mustang coupe are all the domestic cars still available now?! I long for the days when coupes, convertibles, and sedans ruled. Most likely, the trend will change once again, but how long will that take?

    Good looking car with amazing gas mileage BUT I saw the 2025 parked side-by-side with a 2024 and the only difference is I could see were the front nose cap and the tail lights. The rest of the body appeared to be identical. To me that seems more like a refresh than a new model. While the price has increased, Toyota is cutting back such as no hood struts on such a heavy metal hood which I believe in the past was aluminum. Also, I noticed that on the trunk they no longer even attempt to cover up the wiring going to the hinges as they did in the previous generation. Not a fan of the microfiber interior trim. I'm fine with microfiber on a towel I use to clean my car personally, I think they could have chosen some better material or fabric.

Aluminum hood. Aluminum front fenders. Aluminum in other body panels. Composite tailgate. So, I decided to look up "curb weights." My RAV4 is supposedly 3,620 lbs. Let's look at a more equivalent 2025 Camry model -- the XLE AWD. 3649 lbs. "Camry heavier than a RAV4." Yes, of course, "it's got a battery in it." But still. Oh, while we're here, how about the length? 2025 Camry is MORE THAN A FOOT longer than my 2019 RAV4. "Gosh, I can't buy a new Camry because it won't even FIT in my tiny little ancient garage."

    I prefer the all gasoline version (2.5L or the 3.5L) but hey, at least this seems to be one of the "new" Toyota models that does not yet have engine, supercharger / transmission recall problems. Very well designed & put together for a new full size, fuel efficient family hauler.

    Quoting Roman: "Do you prefer the Toyota badge on your sedan or the Honda badge? They're very similar." Well, Toyota offers AWD and Honda doesn't. That's a big difference and would sway my decision. Offering AWD with the hybrid powertrain is a smart move on Toyota's part. You can get AWD on the Corolla Hybrid, Prius, Camry Hybrid, and Crown. Honda doesn't offer AWD on any version of their sedans, which have dwindled down to just the Civic and Accord. (When did the Insight and Clarity go away?)

    4 exhaust tips, a sporty display and a red interior do not compensate for FWD, CVT and I4 turbo.
    If you're that concerned about fuel economy, just get an EV. Instant torque, higher HP and zero maintenance. If you want a traditional ICE engine with more punch, good 2017 and earlier sedans with a V6 are still available, just allow for maintenance and repairs.

    If car manufacturers would raise the seats/ground clearance in these low slung vehicles, they would certainly grant egress/ingress for older Americans. A more commanding view of the road as well. I know the Crown has more ground clearance but it is very expensive. I think the view of the road and seat height are the main reasons for the sedan's demise.

      You need to drive some of the current sport (SE, XSE) grades of the Corolla or Camry sedans and you’d change your mind. They are NOT the same cars from even 5 years ago. Also come from a 3 series. Won’t come close to BMW handling or passion, but it’s also a third of the price and is very good for what it is. Totally agree with you on the price points though. Also agree on Hondas but the ‘23+ Accords are ugly as sin. Civics are massively better looking, which is sad because the last gen Accord was a very good looking car.

    That XSE front grille is ... too much ... to each his own, I guess. The Barbie dolls will enjoy the ride when the sun fades the red interior to pink. Long before the fading though, the red would become exhausting in short order. Other than those personal issues ... the LE/SE options are a better financial purchase as noted by others.
