Next time you want to get a GM steering column "lock plate tool". That will depress the lock plate which makes it easier to remove the snap ring.
That would help, without something, 3 hands would be nice.
You're supposed to disconnect the battery first.
Was too lazy, but should of at least thought to disconnect the horn. At least I know it works 🙂
