Hey guys first off just wanted to say I'm a newer subscriber here and have thoroughly enjoyed and also learned a whole lot about the NFL rosters and whatnot in the few weeks since diving into a lot of your content. I just thought that maybe you guys could consider maybe showing some plays of the players while discussing them. That would add another nice layer to everything. But yeah you are doing an excellent job and I'm looking forward to seeing more videos throughout the season!
@@cutedoggos8093you have to pay the NFL *a boatload* of cash to show highlights. and unless they're talking about specific plays, then showing random clips adds nothing to the show, it's good as-is. I prefer this as primarily an audio-only show, so I can work/do other things while listening.
Sam.....so lucky to travel to Ireland. Odd he mentions his curtains as one of the perks of being there lol when I first saw this I thought it was a deep dive in ALL the rookies and not just first rounders. I feel most of us already have an idea of the STARS..like saying Caleb Williams looks good is a lol take imo but enjoy your shows none the less and thanks guys for the podcasts
Dude regular season reps aren’t 1’s vs 1’s it’s 1’s vs Scout team imitating the other team’s offense or defense. So in theory in Penix is sitting and just playing scout team reps then he’s still going against the 1’s and getting very solid reps.
Falcons drafted zero players who will open the season starting. That's especially impressive considering several positions were up in the air. I hope this class looks better a year from now, but it just leaves me scratching my head now. At a minimum, they could have gotten a starter in the 1st round if they had set their draft to auto pick.
Have y’all not watched the Packers develop 2 HOF QB in a row…. And a guy who had to sit for 3 years and learn in Love… he hit the ground running in his first campaign. Having a QB sit his rookie year isn’t a bad thing, most if not all rookie QB’s should sit a year, that position would be a lot more stable throughout the league.
If the Kirk Cousins contract was already absurd after they drafted Penix at #8, if they decide Penix is the starter before the season ends, that's going to be one of the worst free agent signing of all time. (And no, saying "he is a QB, so it's worth it" doesn't make it better)
Yeah the reason I hated that pick is because no matter what happens it will not be a fully positive outcome. If Cousins is a success in Atlanta for his entire contract, then that means they wasted a first round pick on Penix, but if Penix plays at some point during his rookie contract and looks good, then that means the Cousins contract was a mistake.
@@Scottish_Bisque why is it a waste of a draft pick? Jordan Love waited 3 yrs. So did Aaron Rodgers. Ppl get so caught up in the rookie contract, the Cousins contract is basically for 2 yrs and then theres an out. U would still have 3 yrs of Penix and what does it matter? Green Bay only got 1 yr from Love’s contract, do u think they regret that??
@@PayDay4RUclips the difference is that they have Cousins locked it for four years, and Penix’s contract is four years with a fifth year option. if Kirk plays his full contract, then they would have to commit to a fifth year with Penix (and plus Penix would be almost 30). and if they get out of the Kirk contract after two years like you say, than that was a failure because they did not make the full four years they committed to him. I have no problem with the Love situation since he was younger, and Green Bay was committed to starting him within three years. the Penix situation is a completely different situation than Love, so you are comparing apples and oranges
@@samuelmonson70 he he no worries I was only kidding. I really enjoy the content you guys are producing and it's always nice to see people move on to new employers but things be amicable with the previous ones...ahem, NFL looking at you ;) All the best for the rest of the season.
Dude on the right keeps saying a QB practicing against 2nd and 3rd team isn’t going to help them develop……. That dude should not be commenting on football, he’s clearly super ignorant about what goes on at practice and how players are developed.

Castlemartyr eh.... sweeeet. Top class place.
Brian thomas Jr is going to be GOOD... by 2nd half of year he should be an "at least 1 BIG play every game" type of guy.

Verse and Fiske will be a problem rookie year there is a reason they didn’t play in preseason they will have a huge role

What about the teams without first round picks you didn't even talk about the locksmith 😢

@Scottish_Bisque only way it semi works out is cousins plays well and they trade him.
If Penix is the starter they could possibly trade Cousins...
