Funny, I can tie that snell free-hand, and have been tying it for over 65 years..the challenge lies in tying multiple hooks that all hang in the same alignment, at equal distances.

Зачем так сложно, да еще и спец приспособление надо иметь. Делаешь восьмёрку на конце лески (делаешь колечко на конце лески, несколько раз обматываешь кольцо кончиком её и слегка затягиваешь, пока востмёрка сама не получится), продеваешь в кольца восьмёрки, в одно и затем в другое петельку крючка, затягиваешь и... ву-а-ля, почти такой же узел получается, по крайней мере по прочности и по расположению лески по отношению к крючку.

That's cool, but I prefer using a swivel. My dad taught me an awesome fishing knot that I use on the swivel. The only drawback to using the swivel instead of your way is if mine gets snagged, and the line breaks I lose the hood and the swivel. But I can change bait much faster.

That’s not the correct way. Run the line through the eye of the hook first, insert the eye into the tool, then do your snell knot!

Why not run the line through the eye and lay the hook in the groove before winding? That would keep the snell next to the eye, where it belongs.

Изврат. Если завязывать минуя ушко, то шнур попадает в место загиба ушка и перетирается. Если есть ушко не заваренное сплошняком, то лучше его использовать.

Possibly, but this knot is also used on eyeless hooks so the line never goes through the eye (there isn’t one!). The more tension in the line the tighter the knot gets.
