Note:
The Federal Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) and Sabah Malaysia My Second Home (SMM2H) programs are currently not accepting new applications due to several ongoing adjustments and policy changes.
For the Federal MM2H program, the government is now in the process of revising these requirements to make the program more attractive to potential applicants. These revisions are yet to be finalized and implemented, which is causing a temporary suspension in new applications.
Regarding the Sabah MM2H program, it is set to launch soon but has faced delays due to the need to finalize specific terms and conditions. The Sabah state government has decided to create its own version of the MM2H program with different requirements from the federal program to attract more foreigners to the state. This version aims to be more flexible and accommodating, but the exact details are still being worked out and need to be officially gazetted before applications can be accepted.
Both programs are expected to resume accepting new applications once these adjustments are finalized and officially announced.

yes, both Sarawak and Sabah MM2H allow you to live anywhere in Malaysia. Ms. Liew (Sabah Tourism Minister) mentioned that Sabah-MM2H holders must obtain “approval” before traveling to West Malaysia. She explained that these holders need to apply to Sabah’s immigration authority for the necessary approval first.

For both Sarawak and Sabah, the age limit for dependent children is generally under 21 years old and they must be unmarried

Yeah. Property purchase in Sarawak is compulsory for those below 50 years old. Exception for Sarawak participants (30-49 years old), if participants children continue study in Sarawak or participants undergoing long term medical treatment in Sarawak. New MM2H for federal and sabah now required all applicants to purchase property.

All applicants must purchase high rise property with minimum RM600,000 purchase price.
Sarawak MM2H Property Requirements:
no requirement to purchase property for applicants above 50 years old, while applicants below 50 years old need to meet one of these requirements in Sarawak: property purchase (minimum price of RM600,000 for Kuching and RM500,000 for other divisions) or have children continuing study in Sarawak or undergoing long-term medical treatment in Sarawak.

@@OfficialMM2HResources I guess it's easier the younger you are. Or if you lived in Miami, Houston or New Orleans. But others of us just wouldn't be able to handle it. New York is very humid from the end of June until the middle of September. But it isn't that long.

@@OfficialMM2HResources You're right. Maybe if I were 20-30 years younger I'd take the plunge to try it without being sure, but at my current stage I've got to consider alternatives. My first choice had been Cuenca Ecuador, but now there are too many challenges there unfortunately. The weather there isn't humid. Otherwise Kuala Lumpur or Sanur have a lot of appeal. Alas.....
