Worked on these at the Daimler Radford Coventry factory between 1966 and 1973. Yes they were very good vehicles and the Gardner engines were superb such a tragedy that Gardner no longer in production. We exported buses to Kowloon and when the bus was worn out they used to take the Gardner engines out and fit them in Chinese junks so they had a new life on the water.
Great video Fuzz, thanks for sharing this,it's lovely to see the old buses still in use and not standing in museums,so many Happy memories of travelling on the old timers as a youngster she's in superb condition, but then I wouldn't expect anything else from you, hope the show was a great success.
Did you restore this fine beast yourself or has it always been in preservation? I wanted to buy a Leyland Atlantean when I was 16! I bought a 1967 AEC Reliance when I was 17 but that didn't end well!!
Interesting topic, attraktive cast, knowledgable protagonist ... -- urgently wanted: person who can handle a moving-picture camera reasonably still and pointing to areas of interest.
So another Brummie. Takes me back to my school days, but without the second door. Have fun & thank you.
Yes all the ones in Wolves were single door when they replaced the green Guy buses
One of the most wonderful buses powered by a legendary Gardner engine.
