    This is in the IF top 3 videos list. Great one!
    Suggestion for your buddy (in case you didn't already tell him): Consider getting that rod into the water as far as it can go when they go under the boat. Straight down. Careful, too - depending on the class of rod, line, etc, that's a good way to snap one. I learned that the hard way.

      Thanks Jeff, whats the other top 2? He knows it was that being on the trolling motor and coming up on timber at the same time jacked up the position.

    We did the nights ferry float last year and we saw a ton of those fish but I pulled out a steelhead or pike minow, I don't remember which one everyone said it was, lol. That's awesome. We are doing the nights ferry float today with my mariner 4 inflatable raft with 55 lb Newport vessels trolling motor and some mods. Do you know any regulations in that area besides barbless hooks and no live bait?

    Love the Stanny. I fish it at least 20 times a year.lots of great runs to fish. My crew and i fish it from kayaks. We mainly fish for smallies but also catch stripers. It has some blocks that you wont get your boat through west of 99 bridge. Nice video. Good fishing.

    What brand of hats were you guys wearing in the vid? Looks like it would be good for fishing as it seemed quite fitting and had a nice sturdy bill, I can't stand wearing flat billed caps. Thanks

      cynematek We were wearing Boat Country INC hats that are a "flex fit" style. They are super comfortable.

    Are stripers native to California? I have known them to be in new York and the chesapeake

    • @drumsistkrieg1349
      @drumsistkrieg1349 9 лет назад +1

      Not native, but they were first planted here on the west coast over 120 years ago. They've become established and a commercial fishery used to exist for them, and 40lb fish used to be common, but in recent years, "shaker" fish are much more common since spawning habitat and water exportation has fucked everything up in California. So yeah, they're "invasive" but have coexisted with the other species like native salmon for over 100 years. People try to say they're invasive, but really, that's like saying you're still an immigrant if you have ancestry back to another country over 100 years ago...
