More than a few nuggets in training have trapped on a carrier in flight school only to realize they didn't have what it took to do it on a regular basis, and when on to fly other aircraft that didn't require a tailhook!!!🤔

Totally Awesome!!!! My nephew just got accepted into the navy. He will be going to OCS in Rhode Island then Pensacola FL for training to be fighter pilot. It has been his life long dream and its very hard to get in. The next 2 years will be be the hardest but best training ever. He already has his pilot licenses but nothing like The Navy!!

We were refueling off a Carrier and watched the birds take off and some did a touch and go to practice not grabbing the cable. Unbelievable. Also when I was stationed on the USS FLATLEY FFG21 we watched the USS IOWA fire all of her guns at once. Unbelievable. I was on 2 Frigates and 2 Destroyers.
It takes 4,999 other people on this ship for this man to do his job.

in the RAF we always fly with a clear visor down to protect eyes against a birdstrike or in the event of ejection.

If you spend over half a trillion dollars a year on the military over several decades, you get some really really cool toys! Despite the truly mind-blowing inefficiencies ( members of my family work in the Pentagon ) it would have been much easier to have wound up with something less than the most powerful military in history... by far.

I worked with probation officer Brown here in Polk County Florida, whose sister’s husband was killed along with the copilot when engine malfunction tossed them into the water after being launched. The bodies were never recovered.
It can happen that fast.

One of my favorite things to do back in the day was watching flight opps of the port bow on a little destroyer. Wonderful and brave men. Thank you for a new view. 😊
We were refueling off a Carrier and watched the birds take off and some did a touch and go to practice not grabbing the cable. Unbelievable. Also when I was stationed on the USS FLATLEY FFG21 we watched the USS IOWA fire all of her guns at once. Unbelievable. I was on 2 Frigates and 2 Destroyers.
