I went through the entire process at MEPS. Passed every test they gave me, just to end up disqualified over some unspecified asthma medication given to me more than 6 years ago. This is what happened to me during the last part, when the doctor sits down with you to discuss your medical record.
How far back were they able to see, 6 years?
Just got done with the medical and physical part. I was DQ for my vision.
@@Tarrzan surprisingly nothing came up when I went thru meps
@@lionellinares2618 well shitttt.. luck’s on your side or you must be immortal
@@Tarrzan 😭😭maybe it was just so long ago that it wasn’t put in the new system that they use
I went and got waxed and wore an American flag speedo in preparation for the duck walk
Sir, I appreciate all your content. I’ve been watching your videos for the last serval months. they have helped me through the process of finding a recruiter, getting though MEPs successfully and preparing for the AF PAST test. I recently passed my PAST and will be shipping out in November. Thanks again. You’re making a very positive impact.
Aye man. That’s so dope. I’m really glad I could help, and it means a lot to me knowing the impact I’ve had on people like you. Good luck on the rest of the journey, and when you make it through the pipeline, give us an update. 💪🏽💪🏽
How’d you do did you get your sw job?
Excellent presentation. #3 was unexpected and an eye opener.
Yea. That one will make an applicant look real good when at MEPS.
When I first went to MEPS, I woke up at 5AM at the hotel, rode the bus to the MEPS, had the medical then waited until like 5PM doing nothing because their system was down so I couldn't take the ASVAB that day. That day was long and boring.
Did you ever take it?
@@kaiya9599 I didn't take the ASVAB that day but I came back a week later and took it.
@@refresh77 nice
I love your channel and the clips you use are hilarious 😆😆
Ayeee. Thank you so much. 🙌🏽🙌🏽
I appreciate the content you put out!! I’m meeting my recruiter today!
Ayee. Let’s goo. Good luck on the process. 🙌🏽🤙🏽
@@Jodywithawhy Hey Jody, I am concerned about my height for MEPS, usually in the Airforce you can be no shorter than 58 inches. I am 4’3. Is that too short to join the Airforce. I feel like it’s not fair because I can’t help my height. I don’t know it the Airforce has changed the height requirements or not.
You can request a height waiver. I don’t know if they’ll approve it, but you can ask for one.
Great video
Thank you for the support. 🙌🏽
funny you post this i leave today and have my final meps visit
Ayeee. Good luck. You got this. 🙌🏽🙌🏽
Good luck!
Jody, a video idea of materials that we can start to study even before basic training like air force history, songs to know, or anything that is tested test over there, I like to prepare in advance and would like to have the knowledge before going to basic. Thanks
This video explains how to prepare for basic. This video solely speaks about PT, but you can use the app for all of your basic training prep. ruclips.net/video/bTH74qo-Qp4/видео.html
@@Jodywithawhy I have a question, How long does it take for MEPS to schedule for an appointment?
It depends on you. If you’re ready to move fast, and you don’t need any waivers, you can go within 1-2 weeks depending on availability at MEPS. But if you need waivers, it can take 1-3 months. I hope that helps.
Just here to like.
I appreciate the support. 🤙🏽🤙🏽
i leave for bmt in 15 days can’t wait lol, wish me luck
Ayeee. Congrats and good luck. You got this. 🙌🏽🙌🏽
I’m just here to like.
Always with the support. 🤙🏽
My MEPS appointment is this week . I believe it’s going to be all right .
Is there any update for the process ?
Warning (for your own sake): Don't drink any liquid watching this unless you want it all over the screen and the person next to you. The side clips will have you dying.
Lol it was truly an embarrassing day. 😂😂😂
Hey Jody, I was wondering if they still give the temporary military ids for the people in the delayed entry program?
I’ve never heard of this. I know guard and reserve can get them while waiting to go to basic, but active duty I’ve never heard of this.
I have a very important question! If I’m married, after BMT and tech school when can I move my spouse and son on base? Or will I have to find a house or apartment off base? I also really want to have my two small dogs to come as well. Is this a possibility? I can’t find it in my heart to relocate them
This video explains the process of joining with a family. I hope it helps. ruclips.net/video/WU6mQ-ewLWY/видео.html
Quick question! When you go to meps do you have to disclose a diagnosis that has already been proven a misdiagnosis ?
The question is do you now, or have you ever had a history of or been diagnosed with “medical condition”.
If you’ve been misdiagnosed with something, I don’t see any reason to worry about disclosing the condition. As long as you provide medical records, and the doctors written misdiagnosis, our doctors should be able to read through it and make the right decision.
Hi there I have a quick question a year ago I went to an Air Force recruiter, but didn’t make it that far into the process we only did the initial questions / pre- screening to see if I qualified, however I felt like I wasn’t quite ready yet so I told him. Currently, I have been studying for the past 3 months and am now ready to join and go to MEPS, however I want to go to a new recruiter, will the new recruiter see that I tried to join a year ago? Thanks for your help :)
It depends. If the old recruiter did what they were supposed to do, they should have input you into a system and built a profile. If they built that profile, every recruiter would be able to see your profile. However if the original recruiter didn’t input you, then no one would ever know you worked with a previous recruiter.
@@Jodywithawhy thank you☺️
Just curious, how did it go? I'm currently looking to join as well!
We were in meps hold. That night they assigned us to hotel rooms for w/e reason.
By the morning more than 4 people were kicked from the program.
They were running in the hotel hallways, made a sex tape, did drugs, was drunk etc
Total winners.
I went to meps FIVE times
Just finished my first year in the air Force🥳
Ayeee. My guy. Out here winning. 💪🏽💪🏽
1:33 😭🤣 the sad thing is that I can see people doing this
This dude says “as the world turns” and I had Vietnam style flashbacks to Raleigh, NC MEPS 🤣
Side note: you find the best clips to add in. Big Bird bustin the door down got me weak.
😂😂😂. I try man. Lol. Just trying to get better.
@@Jodywithawhy you always are man!
I am going to meps in 2 weeks. I just had my waiver approved for my astigmatism. When I go back from meps for my physical again, will I have to do everything again(vision, piss test, hearing, etc)? I just want to know if I have to go through the whole process again. Thank you
Nope. You’ll just continue eye inspection where you left and swear into the DEP.
@@Jodywithawhy My recruiter told me I just had an inspection but I wasn’t too sure what he meant. Appreciate you for the feedback!
i have a question, so at meps my friend told me that I should avoid telling them certain stuff,
when i was a kid i got diagnosed with asthma but to this day I don't really use my inhaler or have any problems whatsoever to the point its been years since i've actually used an inhaler. last time i used one was when i was like 15-16 but now im 23 years old interested in joining but im scared if they see it on my records.
my friend told me i should lie because thats how she got in her branch but i feel that it is not right to lie. especially to recruiters/doctors
what do you recommend?
This video will help you understand how to get asthma approved. ruclips.net/video/ynKjsxegEPE/видео.html I never recommend lie. If it was that long ago, you’ll take your pulmonary function test, and depending on those results, that will determine if you can join or not. Nothing is ever guaranteed with asthma, but at least you’ll feel better knowing you tried the right vs lying. I hope this helps.
Just do it lie it won’t hurt the Air Force
Any asthma treatment after 13th birthday oops the DQ code for submission to waiver. If CommonWell or JLV pulls records showing that, you are now lying. Be truthful.
What happens at MEPS for the people who are there to ship out for basic?
i ship out today so if i remember i’ll reply to you and lyk lol
They just reinspect you all. They’ll height and weight check you. They’ll reconfirm no changes since you last came. They’ll make sure you have all of your paperwork and necessary documents (drivers license, social security card, birth certificate etc.) And they’ll swear you into the Air Force. Pretty easy and simple day.
The number of subs!!! 😬😬
We’re getting there. 🙌🏽🙌🏽
Or did you mean the fact that I have 6.66K subs. Yea, that needs to change fast. Lol
@@Jodywithawhy exactly hahaha
Jody. I was told from my friends brother that the military can access ur medical history even if you don’t disclose info at meps. He told me they checked his personal medical history at basic training and he was sent home. Is that true? He was in the navy however. Thanks
It’s possible. When you do your medical paperwork, you give authorization for the Air Force to look at your old records. If for any reason they need to pull them, they can.
@@Jodywithawhy what reasons would they need to pull them? Would reasons only be needed if let’s say I got that same injury or medical condition diagnosed while enlisted ?
Anything that happens to you in the Air Force could trigger them to pull your medical records. They just want to verify nothing was ever admitted that wasn’t on your record.
@@Jodywithawhy roger that sir. I just want to make sure I’m in the clear. I was open and honest about my surgeries to my recruiter and passed meps, and swore in. I just didn’t want something to happen down the road and the Air Force gives me a hard time about something they saw that I did not recall happen when I was a minor.
Question !!! Somebody ! What if you have have doctor medical notes of possible mood disorder symptoms but you were never diagnosed and you’re in a lot better place now. Do you even bring up this information?
Did you pass?
I want nothing more in this world than to call myself an airman. But I don’t have a good track record. Please 🙏 help me. I don’t do drugs or have any felonies. The worst thing on my record is a mental health facility when I was 9, 25 years ago. I was A1c in cap and I want to spend the rest of my life serving in the Air Force. I don’t care what job I get. It will take no less than 3 miracles to get me in: miracle 1 is the recruiter saying sign here. Miracle2 is passing meps with genesis. Miracle 3 is seeing week 5 without being FC’d. Please help me dude.
You would just have to get the medical records from the mental health facility, find a recruiter and have them do a medical read and most likely surgeon general waiver for you. It will take some work, it could be possible. I hope that helps.
Hi M. Jody I’m actually looking for a recruiter now, can you help me ?
I’m a recruiting instructor now. I can help you find a recruiter but I can’t recruit you.
Could you recruit someone out of your state
Recruiters can, however it not the best option. I would recommend to stay close to your local recruiters
Can you bring a book?
Yes
My recruiter said that I can join as a flight nurse right after high school but as I'm looking at the website, all I see is that I need a bachelors in nursing in such. Am I wrong or can you join as a flight nurse right after high school?
You’d need a nursing degree to join as a nurse. There are flight medical jobs for people without degrees, but it’s not nursing. This video can you help understand how to use the Air Force to become a nurse. ruclips.net/video/Jc5b9piFBWw/видео.html
Hi, please am trying to join the Airforce but I have a personal concerns I would like to sort your ideas on it’s there a way to reach you , prolly email or something
