The sad part with this movie and so many comedians that are so well known to many of us older folks is these people are now gone, and when we, who know all these actors so well are also gone, this movie won’t be appreciated nearly as much as it should be by our kids and grandkids. Every single person in this movie I know well and have seen them all so many times over the many decades of my life. It feels like a comedians family reunion.
Seriously, quite possibly the very-best comedy film out there, very epic in scale and scope, features a very large cast of comedic actors and the wonderful Spencer Tracy, and has a very light-hearted message about greed and how it can make us do insane, childish things. And to also say, I love the cinematography during the car chases, and this was long before green-screens and CGI were ever even a reality, this should be used as a prime example of how to properly shoot a car chase scene.
When I was a kid watching this I kept thinking he called Melvolle "Dennis" and couldn't make sense of it. What was so derogatory about Dennis? Then later I realize it's dentist.
00:34 anyone notice Berle's Chrysler Imperial has a rectangular steering wheel? I didn't know Chrysler put them out with that format of steering wheel and this early. Imperials, New Yorkers, Newports were all basically the same car [we had several New Yorkers and Newports]. The differences were Imperials and New Yorkers were more luxurious than Newports.
Yes agree. It's something bout this film that brings me back a lot. Also, I think this film should be used as an example on how to properly shoot a car chase scene.
Kramer was so optimistic of getting Stan Laurel to play Jack Benny's cameo that a reverse angle with an actor wearing a bowler was shot. When Stan ultimately declined, Benny (who NEVER wore a bowler) happily donned it for the master. Can you imagine Stan Laurel in this bit?
8:58 isn't it wonderful when the theme music for Meyer(Phil Silvers) kicks in as he turns his head to Pike(Jonathan Winters) for the first time. I'd love to listen to the full orchestral soundtrack to this movie if it was available for purchase.
"I'll say it before and I'll say it again, I didn't want to move to California"... thing is the group were heading west and had yet to turn south towards the money. So where exactly was this guy and his wife heading to? Because it certainly wasn't California!
This is the best comedy film I've ever watched during my childhood days 😂 awesome !

Excelente comentario. La vuelvo a mirar y siempre me alegra ver ésta película. Un saludo desde San Juan de Pasto Colombia
What a cast! Each one perfect for the role, and Durante to begin the crazy, lol.
Phil Silvers up to one of his usual roles of con-man & double crosser.
Ethel Merman stole every scene she was in. Love her.
this movie ages well because most of it was shot outdoors. Except for the clothing, womens' hairstyles, and cars it translate good today.
“what are you some kind of a nut?”. lol
"whats with that funny accent, are you from Harvard or something!?!"
"Get out of this machine!!"
THE GREATEST AMERICAN COMEDY FILM EVER MADE.
A classic. Thanks for the upload. Love Mr. Winters!
Dorothy Provine looks like she's genuinely entertained by Terry-Thomas.
2:51 One of my favorite scenes in the movie despite it being only a few seconds long.
Couldn't stop laughing for 3 days
Remember that it was always on TV at Xmas.
They killed the 1961 Bubble Top Impala.

The Question should be made, How could you fuck up a great movie, like you did, by splitting the move all to hell?
It´s not my fault! You tube only authorized me 15 minutes et a time...
Grow up, filthy-mouthed, ungrateful - Karen.

The Correct Title of the Film Manuel is "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World" you silly person. Pay attention to the language. 4 "mads" and not Three.
Thank you.
Ey dude. Fuck off.
Yeah that really seems important...you should be more considerate and careful with your choice of words. You come out a bit too strong. Simmer down.
Troll, troll, troll... troll.
