You’ve convinced me to finally pick up Red Rising. I have had it on my shelf for over 5 years at this point, but your enthusiasm really gave me that final push to add it to my TBR
I love how everytime I watch your videos my tbr grows lol! I haven't read too much sci-fi but I'm definitely going to add Wayward pines to the list since I really enjoyed the show. I'm hoping the book is even better!
New sub here. YT recommended your channel last week and I’ve been binge watching your content. I love your energy. I love your Top 10 list and I’ve created a TBR list based on your recommendations. Honestly, I’ve been looking for a booktube reviewer like you. Best channel recommendation ever!!! 📚❤😊
You've made me curious how I would feel about Locke Lamora on re-read since I also read it years ago and had given it 5 stars! I mostly haven't continued since it seems like the fourth book is never coming out. The Blake Crouch series sounds interesting! I remember watching the show and I've always wanted to read the books. And ahhh Red Rising is the best. I really need to read the second arc of the series!
She's back! Happy to see your latest video. I've been reading Red Rising on audio (currently on Morningstar). Great narration and really enjoying it. Thanks for the reco!
I’ve decided to give Red Rising another try 😅 the first time I couldn’t get into the story but maybe this time will work out better. I’m also down for another buddy read for Red Seas Under Red Skies!!
I really enjoyed The Blighted Stars! I’m so glad book 2 is getting released this year. It’s actually convinced me to pick back up Velocity Weapon. Also, I recently read Red Seas Under Red Skies. In what will go down as the biggest surprise of the year, I absolutely loved it!
Im 70% into dark age and WOW from beginning to the end just non stop craziness, Im living for it! these books are incredible, I stopped years back and I regret it!! it definitely only gets better after first book which I still enjoyed. thanks!
Don’t let it intimidate you! The world building unfolds pretty seamlessly, and I think the story itself is easy to follow. I hope you pick it up soon ☺️
I am happy to hear the next video will not take so long. I read How High We Go In The Dark and it brought out so many different emotions in me. It shocked me and made me sad. It also made me reflect on 2021-2022 when I was so confused because of conflicting information and so many deaths. You struggle when you have family members to think about. This novel displayed that so well.
I'm doing a reread right now too, and you're so right about how surprising it is how many things you forget - including large plot lines! It's so fun jumping into an old favorite, though.
I'm reading through the Dresden Files books right now, but thinking about picking up either Murderbot Diaries, the Wayward Children series or I just ordered a used copy of the first Red Rising which I'm super excited for. I've, somehow, remarkably KILLED my year reading goal of 35 books for the year (I'm already at 51!!!!), probably because its the year I finally picked up fantasy! So glad I just stumbled on your channel : -)
I feel like Red Rising is a funny series because the first book is the weakest, but a lot of people love it. I am so glad I pushed forward because the rest of the books are insanely good.
Hi 👋🏾👋🏾👋🏾 Working my way thru The Red Rising saga. Just started Morning Star. Loooving it so far! Also adored The Pines trilogy...great suggestion! Will definitely read How High we go in the Dark. Missed you 😘.
I finally finished Stories of Your Life and Others (one of your recommendations) and really loved it. Also loved Piranesi. Now, I’m so ready for spooky season reading, even if it is only mid August, ha.
Your videos get me so excited to read, I can’t wait to try the Wayward Pines series! I also loved How High We Go in the Dark. The second story in the book wrecked me
You’re making me want to read the Wayward Pines series. I’ve wondered if there’s a point because I loved the tv series. I used to have the first book and I started reading it and it felt exactly like the beginning of the series so I put it down (I wasn’t a big reader then). I was so disappointed that they didn’t finish the tv series, but they kept saying they would. Sounds like you got a true ending with the book and I would love that.
Ugh! I stopped at the 1st set of Red Rising because I was so afraid I wouldn’t love the rest like I did the 1st. I’m still hurt over the betrayal. But you are making me take the plunge and continue. Ok fine. I’ll read Blighted Stars too.😂
I read The Blighted Stars and the romance really got in the way of the story for me too. Things would come to a stand still just for the characters to be like "omg they're so hot omg omg" and they're in a tense survival situation.
I really hope you do! I think it’s so worth it to read the second era of this series. Iron Gold may take a minute to get adjusted to, but it lays a great foundation for Dark Age and Light Bringer, which are perfect (imo 😅)
Yay, I've missed your videos! I've been rewatching your old ones that I've never seen to hold me over 😂. I recently read Do You Dream of Terra Two on your recommendation and WOW. 🤯😭🥹. It immediately shot to #2 in my favorites of the entire year!
I gasped when I saw this video!!! I love when your videos!! Yay excited to watch this
Wayward Pines was such a good series. Such a great blending of genres.
You and Petrik will make me read The red rising saga! Or at least try the first book 😂. So glad you enjoyed the last of the trilogies!
Oooo, the narrative structure in the stars undying sounds like it could be fun
I found it to be so interesting! I think it’s worth checking out a sample of the book if it sounds intriguing to you! 😃
How How We Go In the Dark sounds so so good!
I, too, loved HOW WE GO IN THE DARK!
I’m still thinking about it! Such an incredible book

Great to see you! I finally got Wayward Pines #2 and #3 in from the library - gonna binge them! Light bringer is next :)
Let me know what you think of the ending of wayward pines trilogy! Really hope you love it 🤞🏽 and LB is so epic, I can’t wait for you to read it!
You hype up all the book so freaking good that I just want to read them all NOW
Thank you! I get pretty excited about sharing the ones I’ve loved 😄
Just started Wayward Pines a few days ago after hearing you talking about it. 😊 so excited to read on.
She's back! Happy to see your latest video. I've been reading Red Rising on audio (currently on Morningstar). Great narration and really enjoying it. Thanks for the reco!
That’s cool you’re experiencing the audio! I hope you continue to enjoy the series ☺️
What am I wanting on reading the Lies of Lamora!! Keep it up you always have me getting into new series 😂❤
Welcome back! I’ve missed your content and recommendations.
❤️❤️

Dark Age is intense for sure! And I’m so happy you got back into the series. Can’t wait for you to read Light Bringer!
I’ve been putting off Locke Lamora for too long. I’m pretty confident I’ll love it but something about it feels super intimidating for some reason.
Don’t let it intimidate you! The world building unfolds pretty seamlessly, and I think the story itself is easy to follow. I hope you pick it up soon ☺️

I completely agree. It’s a beautiful novel and brings out such a range of emotions. I can’t wait to see what else Nagamatsu writes!
Always great to get a new video from you, Tori! 🖤
Every time you mention Wayward Pines I'm reminded that I need to get to the series SOON. 🙈
I'm doing a reread right now too, and you're so right about how surprising it is how many things you forget - including large plot lines! It's so fun jumping into an old favorite, though.
It is! It makes some moments feel like you’re reading it for the first time because of the things you forgot 🤣

Yay, thank you! ❤️
I love your wrap ups!
Thank you!!
Oooh I loved Wayward pines books. But I never read the last one 😢
Omg you defintely have to read the last town😩 It’s great and really brings the trilogy full circle!
Just finished Lightbringer last week! What a ride
I still haven’t recovered! When I see Lysander again, it’s on sight 😤

That’s the best comment, thank you 🥹 I’m happy you’re reading! And that 2nd story in how high we go left me speechless
Just popping in to say I really love your videos, great to see you again! 110% convinced to get Red Rising going 🎉🎉
Thank you so much! ❤️ I really hope you enjoy Red Rising. I think book one is good but defintely the weakest of the series!

Yea! I've missed your videos Tori, hope you're doing well! ❤
I am, thank you!! hope you’re doing well too 🤗
I knew the Stars Undying was based on Cleopatra, but, I didn’t realise quite how *strong* the basis was. 😅 (About half way through the audio book.)
It’s heavy for sure! 😄 Have you been enjoying it so far??
@@ToriMorrow It’s very well written. I just worry that knowing the original history is kind of serving as ‘spoilers’ for it. 😆
Ugh! I stopped at the 1st set of Red Rising because I was so afraid I wouldn’t love the rest like I did the 1st. I’m still hurt over the betrayal. But you are making me take the plunge and continue. Ok fine. I’ll read Blighted Stars too.😂
Yea, me too. I loved the first one but stopped because the sequels didn't seem as good.
I read The Blighted Stars and the romance really got in the way of the story for me too. Things would come to a stand still just for the characters to be like "omg they're so hot omg omg" and they're in a tense survival situation.
Lol! Naira did that one too many times and I was over it. Not to mention they had zero chemistry 🤣

Both Red Rising, and Wayward Pines are on my TBR. If I can start only one series this year, which one would you recommend? Great video, as always.
My best read of the year has been Chain Gang Allstars. It is speculative fiction and satire about the American prison system and it blew my mind.
I’m glad to hear you enjoyed it! It’s been on my radar, but now I want to add it to my tbr
You have been MIA. Good to see you.
I know! Trying slowly to get back into a YT schedule 😭
I read Red Rising before Iron Gold was released, I loved the trilogy back then. And I really wanna re-read Red Rising so I can pick-up Iron Gold
I really hope you do! I think it’s so worth it to read the second era of this series. Iron Gold may take a minute to get adjusted to, but it lays a great foundation for Dark Age and Light Bringer, which are perfect (imo 😅)
The saddest part of the last book of wayward pines... there is no more. I hope the author comes back to it cause I gotta know what happened.
thank you for being one of the only poc woman sci-fi booktubers. 🙏🏻sci-fi on youtube is completely dominated by white men!!!!!
Long time no see Ms morrow 😊 hope all is well
It is, thank you!! Just trying to get back into the swing of YT now 😩 Hope all is well with you!
I’m blessed but thank you and take care 🥰
💚📖💚
🤗
Do you read light novels as well?
I don’t read many 😭
@@ToriMorrowI would like to know your opinion on them. I read a lots of them and find it quite fun.
