Hey, ancient Ray Charles fan here in the States. That is an incredible loving tribute cover that Ray would give a thumbs up to. I also smile tbat you restrained yourself from doing more than a little of Ray's signature side-to-side swaying movement. It's hard not to do it because it's so embedded in the rhythm.

But... this is already a good professional, so very few chances to win the competition, not being exactly an emerging talent (he is 43 years old)
In fact he has long played with a band all over the world, but the band separated, so he tried a solo career last year, publishing an album.
This album didn't met success, COVID being in part responsibile of this failure.
So, to relaunch his career in solo, he decided to join this season of the Voice, hoping to gain a wide popularity. I think he understands he can't win, the stake for him is just to have some prime time exposure.
Anyway, he will be a fantastic sparing partner to push emerging talents to their best.
At first we think about a possible battle with Maseko (second blind session).
He has chosen Vianney, as Maseko
We see Vianney looking to the Guitar. He guesses at this moment that it must be a true old guitar, and when debriefing, the candidate confirms it is an authentic 1952's Gibson.
He chooses Vianney and tells him he will be very happy to lend him his Gibson.
