Whoa! You know Fox Hollow?! Hello there, am a fellow Fox Hollow Resident / roleplayer. I was not expecting to say anything about Fox Hollow. So I was caught off guard. I miss that sim. I had some fun times there and did some crazy shenanigans there as well with my girlfriend Duck. Oh the stories I could tell. 😂
For a browser alternative that doesn't consume as many resources as Google, I recommend Opera GX! You can actually limit the amount of RAM and CPU the browser uses if you need to keep your browser open, but you're also gaming and/or streaming. I've been using it for a few weeks and it's been a lifechanger, especially if you're like me, when you *need* to keep your browser open while you're logged into SL 😂 My RAM hasn't blown up since I've switched. 10/10, absolutely recommended.
What also helps is transferring your AO to run in firestorm as its own AO like transferring it to Firestorm :) Its tricky at first but totally easy once you get the hang of it. I also kept my AOs just in case I end up going to another viewer
@@cypherlex7243 this is what i found on google: Yes, the HP 15 notebook can have a graphics card, depending on the model. Some HP 15 notebooks have integrated graphics cards, while others have dedicated graphics cards. heres how you find what graphics card you have: What graphics card do I have? Here's how to find out info on what graphics card you have: In the desktop search bar, start typing Device Manager and select it when the option appears. Click the arrow next to Display adapters and the name and model of your GPU will appear right below.
SL is dog slow because of the developers not keeping up. I have an AMD RX 7900 XTX, and I can run RDR2 (a graphically beautiful game, with way more advanced realistic shaders, lighting, and effects than SL) on all 'ultra' setting at 4K and get 70-90 fps. And it's not OpenGL vs Vulkan either; with BasemarkGPU (a modern graphics benchmark) both the OpenGL and Vulkan (and also DirectX) renders perform similarly. If you're here trying to speed up SL on a modern gaming PC, this video is unhelpful; we should expect our rigs to be able to handle graphics from the 2000's era at a way better frame rates than modern graphics. Like for example, my old GPU (which ran RDR2 maxed slower than my current one runs SL) pegged MW2 (2009) at it's internal limit of 200 fps, which is what you should expect for the graphics quality.
This wont help on older computers. Lol Second Life is an unoptimized shit engine. You need a powerful PC to run it smoothly. Even my high end ASUS 8 core with Nvidia 1660 TI cant always keep up with the rendering fuckery of their lazy optimization. GET A DESKTOP WITH A GOOD GRAPHICS CARD AND A TON OF RAM ;)
Dont use a Potato Laptop or PC, Problem Solved. Sry but the Tips are useless. Shadows off and Draw Distance at 96m and LoD Factor at 2. or turn this down and you are fine.
Thank you so much for this video. Helped out so much. Went from 20 fps to nearly 60 on a populated Urban RP Sim.
thats awesome! I love to hear it 💖

What computer do you use?
I use an acer nitro 5 laptop with nvidia geforce rtx 3060 I believe!
No, lol even a GTX 1650 run at full 120 FPS lol yours is way too low for SL.

Instead of doing all these you should just bought a laptop or desktop with GTX 1650. You won't disappointed.
