Dont use a Potato Laptop or PC, Problem Solved. Sry but the Tips are useless. Shadows off and Draw Distance at 96m and LoD Factor at 2. or turn this down and you are fine.

This wont help on older computers. Lol Second Life is an unoptimized shit engine. You need a powerful PC to run it smoothly. Even my high end ASUS 8 core with Nvidia 1660 TI cant always keep up with the rendering fuckery of their lazy optimization. GET A DESKTOP WITH A GOOD GRAPHICS CARD AND A TON OF RAM ;)

I used to make 20 to 25,000 linden a month just from gestures and scripts I put in the market place way back a decade+ ago. Not enough to live off obviously, but was a nice passive amount to get for scripts that took just a few hours to make and didnt require me to even login. It was nice to keep getting that money for so many years. I barely touch SL anymore and sales definitely have dropped to at best 1k a month. Between my scripts being copied/cloned and or just also sold as similar ones have been created and sold by others, its just led to less sales overall~ Doesn't help less people are using second life to begin too! I need to buckle down and make a new batch of stuff to sell to get that passive income rolling again! I dabbled in real estate in the early days of SL and that too was lucrative for little effort, but that market is so over saturated with brokers now that its just too pricey and risky to attempt these days.

What also helps is transferring your AO to run in firestorm as its own AO like transferring it to Firestorm :) Its tricky at first but totally easy once you get the hang of it. I also kept my AOs just in case I end up going to another viewer

U bring up some really interesting points and details in this video. The average person in SL is not aware of the many small details that go into starting these types of ventures. There is a point of experience and common knowledge individuals have to have in order to put many of the details explained into action. Some of the terms used and or facebook groups discussed I myself am unaware of. It would be interesting if these ideas were broken down into several smaller videos with more detail like, current links for schools referenced, rl examples on MP, etc. I find on utube many are interested in how to do the types of things covered in this video but there is a sense of bewilderment on how to get started. And I have met Skyler before... Lov Skyer.

SL is dog slow because of the developers not keeping up. I have an AMD RX 7900 XTX, and I can run RDR2 (a graphically beautiful game, with way more advanced realistic shaders, lighting, and effects than SL) on all 'ultra' setting at 4K and get 70-90 fps. And it's not OpenGL vs Vulkan either; with BasemarkGPU (a modern graphics benchmark) both the OpenGL and Vulkan (and also DirectX) renders perform similarly. If you're here trying to speed up SL on a modern gaming PC, this video is unhelpful; we should expect our rigs to be able to handle graphics from the 2000's era at a way better frame rates than modern graphics. Like for example, my old GPU (which ran RDR2 maxed slower than my current one runs SL) pegged MW2 (2009) at it's internal limit of 200 fps, which is what you should expect for the graphics quality.
