Hi, all y’all. This day in the life turned out well. I’m always interested in your gardening, your storage plans/accomplishments/wishes. With limited space, it is a sometimes bumpy road, trying to find the space. I keep shifting all my art/junk journal supplies, then it takes a while to remember where I put something all of a sudden realize I need. I’m getting there, just as y’all are. To say that I’m happy for y’all and your mom about her settling in at the care home is a total understatement. I am thrilled! At my age, 76, I count my blessings that I am able to take care of myself and be here in my studio apartment, 8 miles from my sons who are delightfully wonderful and able men. We’ve talked a bit now and then about the fact that someday we all three just might be living together somewhere. See y’all next time! Give each other a hug for me and cuddle with Luna as well. Oh, Chris, before I forget, I believe the playing ball is a great mental health break/boost for both you and Looney!

Lynette, you keep doing you, it’s obviously working. Some of the things you are creating are just brilliant! Give them boys a hug from us xxx

@@ChrisandShell Thank y’all mark I certainly will give them boys a hug. That’s one of my fun things to do anyway. But this will make it even more special when I tell him it’s from y’all. They know about y’all and Looney. And the OB!

Great news that your mother is settling in at the care home. I know that takes a lot of worry off of your shoulders. The art shed isn't the way you had planned as far as being a work area with the lovely view out the back windows but you were away for a long time. Spring is plenty of time to get it the way you originally intended. Selling the house probably will increase your need for space even more. There will be things you won't want to part with. Hopefully Jocelyn will be the last of the storms. There have been so many. ❤

Yes, it will be wonderful to have the studio space in time for Spring. Thanks as always for your kind words xxx

Hi Chris, Shell and Luna.....Lovely vlog!
I'm happy to hear your mom's settled in her care home, Chris. Unfortunately, my mom's had to leave hers and go into an assessment centre, as she's become too aggressive for the staff. Nightmare! Luckily, we're getting help to find her a new care home. I did have a bit of a melt down 2 weeks ago, as the thought of having to find another home was depressing. Our social worker put us in touch with a company who help you do this, so this week we should have a couple of places to go visit for mom.
We too have had to sell mom's house, which is something I don't like talking about.
I hope everything goes well for your mom. Much love to you all ❤️

      Hello Sue,
So sorry to hear this. I do feel very lucky. We are still having teething problems, but knowing she has someone at hand 24/7 is a huge relief.
With regard to your Mum, I can imagine the trauma this is causing you. This journey has shown me just how adaptable I am and patient beyond anything I ever thought I could be. I hope this new chapter becomes easier for you. You will cope, it may not feel like it all the time but you will find the strength. One thing I know to be important is to look after yourself. No matter how hard or selfish it may feel, you must be fighting fit. I let go of all that and my physical and mental health suffered so much. You can email us directly if you ever want to vent, it will be in the strictest confidence, just go through the website.
Much Love to you, your Mom and your family xxx

@ChrisandShell Hi Chris, thank you for reaching out to me with your kind words and offer to contact you to vent. I may take you up on this. I'm off to see a care home at 2.30 today, who have preliminary said they could cope with mom, but they would need to do their own assessment of her. Fingers crossed it's suitable for her needs, as we've not be offered any other placements as yet.

How do you manage to Moor in such a great place ? I've never seen such a plot. I'm hopefully moving to a narrow boat on my own so will be new to everything when I buy my first boat.

      Hey Angie,
This is our home mooring on the Golden Nook on the Shropshire Union canal. It’s classed as an ‘ End of Garden Mooring ‘ so we are on private land (farmers field essentially). We cover this in the Endof Garden Mooring playlist and there is a blog post on our website www.chrisandshell.co.uk
Any other questions you have, don’t hesitate to ask? Xxx
