Any treble hooks at all with a big fish like that is sketchy as hell. You definitely have proved that that bait does catch them though, multiple times. Have you ever tried using any single kind of single hook rig with it? Curious...
It's a single treble .... Yes I've usef single hooks on line through the hook up ratio goes down to next to zero depends on type of fish etc. I've never had any issue removing the trouble as uts only a single trouble not multiple trouble like most lures out there.
