Usually, you can feel how loose the cannon pinion is when you are in the hands setting position. It will spin too freely. Also, I had a watch that would lose 5-10 minutes at different times and it was a loose cannon pinion. Your videos have been a big help!

Thanks again for another great watchmaking lesson. I do have one question, where would we find one of those tapered shafts and what brand is it?

I got mine on Amazon - it is also called a "Titanium toothpick". I don't have a brand name on mine, but I am sure you can find what you are looking for on Amazon or eBay. Thanks for watching!

I have one Enicar automatic watch. I changed the date by turning the hands several times and after that it happened that the minute hand turned more slowly. Will I resolve my problem with tightening the Cannon Pinion?

A lose cannon pinion might be the problem but I would check to see if the minute hand is lose on the post. You might just need to carefully push the minute back down on the cannon pinion with tweezers or hand pusher tool.
