Washi-Arte original technique of Meiko Yokoyama
born and raised in the city of Kochi, famous for Japanese paper, she moved to Florence following her great love for Renaissance art; later he enters the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence and subsequently invents an original and magical art, the "Washi-Art 和紙あるて (Japanese paper art)".
It is a fusion of the wonderful Japanese material “Washi”, the inspiration of Italian art and the magic of light. The works are made entirely with fragments of Japanese paper, which with a play of light change their image giving rise to a thousand interpretations: past and future, east and west, fantasy, dream, border, truth…
Currently he continues to develop his technique and organizes various exhibitions of "Washi-Art" works and Japanese paper workshops in Japan and Italy.
2021: received the ”CAREER AWARD” at the "LUCCA BIENNALE INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION OF PAPER ART"
