Gravel Driveway Remodel EP15

- Опубликовано: 13 сен 2024
- In this video I am remodeling an existing driveway and also building a new section of driveway for access to a small house. I have to remove and re-install two existing culvert pipes, clear brush, rip and compact etc. I lay down road bridging fabric to help prevent road failure in the years to come. Once all the new base rock has been placed, I get a chance to try out my new bobcat 84" grader attachment.

Great work! It was a pleasure to watch a professional at work with such attention to detail and proper use of equipment. It's refreshing to see this level of skill on a channel. Keep up the good work, and best of luck moving forward!
Thank you very much!
man really good job. enjoyed watching.
RUclips algorithm brought me here and now I’m in a happy place! Really enjoyed this! Great transformation!
Awesome! Thank you!
Great project, tks for sharing
My pleasure!
Another one dude with heavy machinery. Very nice! Nice video for such a small channel. Good luck!:)
Thank you very much!
Personaly i prefer a rake. But nice job mate
Thanks for watching.
Patrick, you have a nice mix of equipment. You did a much better job on the culverts than was there. Does your dozer have a rear view camera? Good looking job...nice transformation! I'm sure it's very satisfying for you. You probably don't charge enough 😂
No backup camera. Thanks for watching!
Shoot dang one-man wrecking crew how lovely it is when you have the right equipment God bless you
Thank you!
New subscriber here. It is an absolute pleasure watching a professional at work. Excellent tunes, too!
Thanks!
Finally! Someone who waters, compacts and grades as it should be done ✅ 🎉
Thats funny. I have heard that comment more than once. Out here on the west coast it is very dry in the summer and dirt will turn into powder without water. For those that don't know, the water is needed for compaction and it acts as a lubricant of sorts to help settle the particles tight together (so I was told by a geotech engineer). Thanks for watching
Amazing work! I watch a few other channels, you are the first one I’ve seen that wet down the area and the material (rock) for the job. I think that is a great way to compact the road, I’ve seen major construction companies doing that. Again, great job!! New subscriber here.
Wetting down isn't done because it's not very useful unless you have rock with a lot of fines in it and you want to get a solid compaction. In this case I think it was appropriate. You can over wet the rock if you aren't careful though. I'm guessing the wetting down of the dirt is probably a local requirement. Hard to tell without being there, but I doubt wetting the dirt added any compaction improvement in those soil conditions. We rarely wet down.
Welcome aboard!
Wetting down the dirt is needed here because otherwise the dirt turns into a dry powder on the surface which is not compactable. Then if gravel is laid over the top of that it turns to mud after the first rains. Too much water can be a problem for both dirt and rock. Great comment!
🤝👍👍👍
nice job
Thank you!
andrew camarata in the making!
Thanks!
Nice job from one operator to another. Only thing I saw was you didn't compact that rock in lifts, That looks like 18" pipe to me. Should have done 3 6" lifts. Also, when rolling use the full throttle. That throttle is for your RPM's not your speed. You want maximum RPM's. I personally wouldn't vibrate until I made a pass or two. Vibrating isn't always useful on rock. I'm impressed, you've earned a subscriber.
Thanks for the tips!
Patrick how do you bid a job like this? What’s something like this cost?
I’m just getting starting into excavation, I come from a crane and rigging background so dirt work is somewhat new to me…so any advice helps…great work btw!
Nice work Patrick!
Thanks!
If they have kids, hat brim will be a pretty cool hill to slide down or jump a bike off of.
For sure!
Nice work that will be like a hard top driveway.moving equipment ends up being a big part of the job lol
You got that right!
Looking good!
Thanks!
Great Job! Congrats on getting over 1000 subs... :):)
Thanks! I am grateful to be able to share with you guys!
Good quality job done. I see its not just about the money for you but quality. I think you should work on the camera quality pretty blurry at times.
