As a kid I bragged about how I extinguished the fire at the alley and getting the oil additive in that area. Thing is, I pulled it out of my ass, and when I finally got there, I was surprised.
Hospital 4th floor, it's kind of weird. how could you know the code without entering the other room and how did you know the right place to place the shelf?
Even speedrunners without TAS know what the combination is lgoing be based on which corner the bookshelf goes into. And they know which side of the room the cabinet needs to go just by looking at the direction it's facing upon entering the room. If the drawers are facing you, it's going to the back wall. If the drawers are facing away from you, you have to push the cabinet to the wall closest the door you entered the room from. But from that point on, you still have to make a guess between the two corners of the side of the room the bookshelf needs to goto based on the direction the drawers faced. Most speedrunners call this "YOLO Carlos". They never open the other room to read the note on the doctor which gives you the combination(and tells you exactly which corner the cabinet needs to goto). They enter the room, look at the direction the cabinet is facing, and then move the cabinet to it's corresponding side of the room, and that never changes. They then choose the corner that is the fastest to push the cabinet into, and they're taking a 50/50 gamble that it'll be the right corner. If it fails, it's pretty much a run ender. If it's right, it saves time and yeah..most WRs of this game end up having a successful "yolo carlos" in it. Sorry for the long post. It's a little hard to explain through text, much easier to understand seeing it be done in practice.

@@YusukeTatuado It's probably leading into RE8. I assume Claire, Leon, Chris, Jill, and Carlos are all Blue Umbrella members now. Nicholai is dead. It seems like they just cut out all of the backtracking through the whole city. Really the only thing that disappointed me was Brad didn't die to Nemesis.

arukAdo‘s TAS was made on PCSX-RR way back in 2009.
