Interesting, as i only knew their french Hunter style wellies Looks a nice boot, although in leather i prefer not Gortex lined, as the lining wears out more quickly But hiking in jeans is never a good idea You should walk circa 30 miles, in total as a fair break in
I generally share the same views for lined boots, but I really dont want to deal with wet feet on winter walks on dartmoor... point taken on the leg wear!
what was wrong with both the danner and fracap walking boots you have? surely they would have done a better job than the more casual redwings you mentioned that weren't really suitable for long walking/hiking? could have saved you £215!
I only kept the Danner Bullrun, they have the same christy sole as RWs. The fracaps are decent the upper is very much the hiker, the sole and midsole however are not very forgiving for proper walking quite stiff and not much cushion. I am leaning to a modern technical boot for distance now.. may be I am getting old!
They are a bit less expensive compared to known brands for hiking like lasportiva and Salomon, but those two brands feel so cheaply made and are crazy expensive for what materials they are using. I'm having a pair of Aigle muntagna boots arriving tomorrow let's see how they are compared to other ones
Now I have them and have to say, terrible boots, fit almost 2 sizes smaller than advertised, really hot and will make feet sweaty, heavy and way too narrow. Don't buy this shit.
Hi there, good review, just ordered these. How are you getting on with them a year on?
OK, where is the long time review? I am waiting!
Look a lot like Altbergs. Nice
Altbergs were absolutely on my list, made in the UK and favoured by military and police, I am figuring they must be pretty good!
Hey, a very useful review, thank you. Do you know if these boots could be re-soled when worn down? Thanks
This was presented so nicely bud, great review 🔥🔥
Thank you, it was nice to add a bit of extra footage from Devon!
The boots look great ! I had never heard of Aigle before this video. They have all the features of a good modern walking boot.
I had only heard of their wellington boots previously, this is a new release.

GTX presumably refers to the Goretex liner
I think you are correct
Superb review as always.
Thank you!
