OMG, you just single handedly blew the the camera comparison of the all the famous youtubers . I mean super saf, Marquis, mr whose the boss and all . Game on girl !
That's why I tell people to look up reviews from professional photographers and videographers. You'll get a more precise and detailed expertise opinion
Thank you for comparing these two phone’s cinematic modes. The only thing you left out was identifying which “f-stop” you were selecting. While not a real f-stop it is an indication of just how aggressively the software will mask and blur the image. Most folks working with an iPhone use a setting of f-4 or f-5.6 to avoid crazy masking issues. I’m clueless about the Galaxy… but thanks again for this thoughtful piece!
Great comparison, Most phones just suck at cinematic video ( In terms of bokeh ). Its much smarter to just shoot normal video on a phone and use compositional techniques and other ways to make the video cinematic without the background blur
Definitely liking the versus channel! Awesome comparison! And nice explanations where the phones struggle. This gives me a good indication of where i shouldn't be using the portrait video. Thank you!
If you want cinematic video use manual settings. Lock exposure, whitebalance and apply 180 rolling shutter. For extra buy ND filter or extra lenses. Background blur is most of the time too much and unnatural
I've watched dozens of videos looking for a real comparison and I finally found it. Thanks for being the only one to make a decent comparison. Gained a follower
I'm not gonna lie, I've been watching camera comparisons of the two videos for the past 6 hours!! I'm not even kidding.. And OMG this is THE BEST camera comparison I've seen so far!! I especially loved that you compared them with a DSLR camera to see the difference between the phones and the pro cameras. Really enjoyed the video and got what I was looking for all those camera comparisons that I've watched
Firstly, what's with iPhone and the orange color. Second, S24U is more true to Life but sometimes over exposed. And finally, Amazing video. I love everything about it. You just earned a follow. ❤
From Japan. This was the most helpful comparison verification video I've ever seen! Since you were using LUMIX as well as your smartphone, it was very easy to see the difference! I subscribed to your channel! Thank you!
You’re so pretty but sometimes samsung makes you look even prettier, maybe because of over exposure 😅 it gives bloom effects. And aside from that iphone has better fps but in quality both the same at least for me. ❤
An excellent comparison and quite useful. While traditional DSLRs currently reign supreme, I anticipate that within the next two to three years, advancements in AI technology will enable smartphones to closely resemble professional cameras in terms of cinematic capabilities.
The fact that a video camera like the Sony Alpha 7sii is cheaper than those phones makes the phrase "Don't want to invest in an entire DSLR Camera" meaningless.
Would never recommend using cinematic mode. I only ever use pro video on the s23 ultra because it has the most natural blur. Shot a whole 30 minute film project for it for our class, got top place 🎉
May I ask, does it also work with selfie-camera? I'm considering buying S24 Ultra mainly to shoot better talking head videos but if it can't create natural-looking bokeh anyway then maybe not worth the money. I do have Canon M50 with 2.0 lens which works great but sometimes I need to shoot on the phone, when I'm on the go, so I don't carry camera with me. Would appreciate your feedback. I know that S23 and S24 should be similar in this regard.
@@UldisBiz Yup, the s23 ultra is capable of shooting pro video using the front camera. It does also have a natural looking bokeh, however, not as good as it would if you were to use the back main camera (of course) as it is in f1.7 while the front facing camera is only f2.2 (not sure if they have the same apertures as the s24u though)
@@Violet_Evergarden perfect, thank you for taking the time to reply. I guess I will then tinker with Pro settings as I really want a little bit of bokeh (I understand it's a phone so sensors aren't as big as in dedicated cameras) but these 'cinematic' modes in phones typically look very artificial.
Rule number one: NEVER use the cinematic mode on either device if you plan on using the shots for meaningful purposes. Cinematic mode is a gimic. Just use the regular video modes on each device and you'll have a much better result. There's nothing 'Cinematic' about the cinematic mode on each device.
I mean, thank you. Great video. Great lighting in the studio. One thing I understood from this is that phones should not be advertised as a camera. I mean, look at the usability of a device and look if it suits your needs and if you have to give up the cinematic mode give it up. I mean how many times do you even use it?
Can you completely disable the background blur? Feels like it would be better to not have any if they can't handle the "Person holding glass" scene for example.
Great comparison video! Thank you so much! I honestly watch these kind of videos as a I like to day dream :) I can't afford any of the devices but would be over the moon if I could own one and would have a lot of fun with either of them, despite the obvious flaws present in the phones footage.
wait how do you upload a video this clear with those phones? i have been watching reviews and comparison between apple and samsung and all of their videos seems blurry or pixelated even in 4k.
Both amazing phones! They have came so far, i remember getting my first Iphone 3g and thinking i was on top of the world lol, now the 15 pro max and its like a whole new world! Dropped a sub, love your work and dedication!
Both the iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max and the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra have their own flaws. Their software are good but still has a long way to catch up to a professional cinematic camera. I hope the iPhone 16 Pro/Pro Max will have a bigger sensors instead of more pixels for its cameras. And once again, i hope the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will have a main cam with variable aperture f1.4 to f4.0.
It’s good to see that Samsung has come this far way in terms of camera features, which is awesome but you all are aware of that when Apple do things their way, it always come out to make it’s way to the top of shelf in competition, both are beast phones in the world at the moment 🏆
The phones work differently in different test scenarios and subjects. Furthermore, this video is a test on cinematic mode only. If you want to shoot cinematic video with bg blur, dont use a phone. Do not forget the iphone can shoot in prores log but if you are not into color grading then both phones will work well. Ps-skin tone on the iphone is better in the normal video mode
OMG, you just single handedly blew the the camera comparison of the all the famous youtubers . I mean super saf, Marquis, mr whose the boss and all . Game on girl !

One of the most detailed n Short comparisons on RUclips.
I love Samsung but I gotta admit , Apple's Cinematic mode is amazing
Considering the money it costs, it needs a good feature
@@_linlin_it costs same as Samsung

This video is so good considering the fact how fairly you treated both devices. No exaggeration, simply facts.
Damn the cinematics 🧍🔥
If you want cinematic video use manual settings. Lock exposure, whitebalance and apply 180 rolling shutter. For extra buy ND filter or extra lenses. Background blur is most of the time too much and unnatural
The first good comment I have read here. 😊
Can you tell more detailed how to do this
That's what I want to see these type of top tier phone against a real digital camera to see which one come close thanks excellent video
Love both camera's cinematic views. How fast the technology is evolving
Samsungs micro stutter is annoying.

Who is waiting to win the galaxy s 23 ( + and ultra) 🎉
Wrong phone bot
Oh wait
They are the same thing 😂

This is really one of those top Flagship smartphones camera review, I’ve ever seen.
Good job!!👏👏👏🎉
Just what i wanted to look into. Best comparison ever... I was having portrait videos issue with my S24 ultra . Hope it gets better with updates...
Are there any changes? There was a mistake when filming this girl, has it been fixed?
Does the portrait video issue fixed by the update or still there mate?
Great video! You addressed many of my questions, I'm getting the s24 Ultra soon so I wanted to know these things. thank you!
So you are going with s24 U?
@arkobd638 With all it's features it's obviously the better phone compared to a phone that hasn't changed much the last 3-4 years.
What camera you used for the introduction video?
galaxy, the color is not iPhone ish at all
Check out the last video clip 9:09
Very good video. It's shocking to see how much better a camera like the Lumix is. The picture you get from it is really perfect.
Zero yapping, straight to the point

Amazing 😍 thank you! Much love 💕 from Srilanka
Can you do this again once the feb update comes out on s24 ultra?
Cant wait to get my hands on the s24 ultra

still the 15 pro max is by far better than the s24 and lets not talk about the s23 flop.
What's the details of the Lumix camera?? Model name?
Wow, you were ready and out the door in 30 seconds, speedy !

Hey which phone is better in cinematic mode iPhone or Samsung?
Both have their own unique characteristics
Iphone
The first one for phoning and the second one for everything ❤
What did you use to edit with thanks
Finally a detailed practical demo of both phones capabilities in this regard, no extra fluff. Thanks.

Good comparison .both of them are good in their ways 😊
Very nice comparison..
Can you completely disable the background blur? Feels like it would be better to not have any if they can't handle the "Person holding glass" scene for example.
Wonderful comparison 🔥
For closeup shots, the amount of blur that comes naturally with de phones sensors is good enough to use this fake cinematic mode. thanks for the vid!
great point there..
finally, a good comparison.
Awesome comparison ever and very straight to the point after all the millions of videos I've seen!!
Apple colours❤
Your comparison is really cool and worthy thanks
It's interesting to see phones get so far. Maybe in the next 2-3 years these phones can actually compete against DSLR cameras
How do i get started with the description and what to do
Wow the intro was so good! Who is this good looking cat???🐈
Omg SUCH a good comparison, can you do one pixel 8 or 9 vs 15/16 on cinematic mode? 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Very good comparison review
Superb cinematic 🎥🎞️
Seeing this video, opened my mind. Thank you, the video comparison is very good.😍
I luv your review

Superb Review Thanq..
Absolutely insane camera comparison by a lady on youtube
iphone for video . samsung for photo
great comparison
Nice video can the lumix send text messages ? I've seen video shot on phones look as good as camera footage,
iPhone beats Samsung 100%
Haha i sheep😂
Nope💀
Dont compare legends

Whatever happens Samsung for life❤✌️
wow you create a wonderful video comparison.. tqqq..
So Apple is better? Most of the footage was shot with the iPhone it appears.

Why is it called cinematic video anyway?
I think Samsung uses a more correct term: portrait video.
wait how do you upload a video this clear with those phones? i have been watching reviews and comparison between apple and samsung and all of their videos seems blurry or pixelated even in 4k.
is a great review..... you work hard
Hello, love your video, can you share your color grading setting in your intro 🙏
I feel like Azula is the one giving comparison of apple and samsung because you sound like her 😂😂 on the side note: amazing comparison though 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

this is what's missing on the Chinese phones. if only they had cinematic mode 4k30 on the front and back camera I'd jump ship.
Both the iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max and the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra have their own flaws. Their software are good but still has a long way to catch up to a professional cinematic camera.

I like the galaxy and it wins here. Can you try with Xperia 1 V cinematic mode Mrs🙏🙏
But, the Samsung DIDNT win here… iPhone blew it away.

Samsung is best phone ever
Wow very informative video ❤❤❤ watching from philippines
Is it possible to shift the Focus while shooting in cinematic mode in samsung
And here's me waiting to lay my eyes upon that beautiful object in video ❤️
Aww thank you 😊

Add a pro camera in all of your comparison. It helps
I will still prefer the galaxy because of the accurate color but for the exposure problem you said that can be fix in pro mode
