Hated thin wires as well cause the it's very easy to untangle when you eat. The thicker wires are a lot more stable.

I’m a 58 yr old Englishman who got upper and lower metal braces for the first time ever on 08/11/23 (as my teeth have always been pretty straight) for a deep bite. Despite a powerchain being fitted to my lower teeth from the very first fitting appt., I have not had any sensitivity let alone pain at all but hate that I can no longer enjoy food as 1) there are loads of foods I can’t eat at all 2) the “acceptable” foods that are left can still break brackets (a soft sliced white bread sandwich broke one of mine within 5 days!) 3) my bite blocks mean I have to shovel all my food two the only two points I can chew on at the back of my mouth so I don’t taste the food well and 4) I then have to clean the wretched mess up on my braces afterwards. All this is just too much hassle and I hate the thought that my teeth will not look any different after 18 months because my teeth were already straight and no one notices a deep bite anyway (loads of my friends have asked what on earth I am doing because my teeth looked fine!). I am therefore thinking I need to get my braces removed at my second monthly appt. on 03/01/24 and cut my losses as the NiTi 14 wire on my lower teeth has not produced (after six weeks) any visible movement to the arch that needs the most doing and yet my orthodontist only changed my upper wire to a thicker NiTi (18 I think); my bottom arch still has the original NiTi 14 wire on it. I would have thought you should start with thicker wires to get movement started more quickly and then detail with thinner wires(?).

Can you replace braces with retainers? Like I only have a small small bit of unallignment from my teeth. Braces are expensive🙁

Hi, I need help with my braces! I’m on the last probably 4 months or so on my braces and just got a pretty thick wire put it like the one on the video, but on one side, my wire it sticking into my gums all the way in the back so I can’t put any wax on the end or bend the end a bit b/c the wire is too strong to bend for me. It hurts a lot especially when Try tk chew and eat, and the other side is poking too but not as bad, I can actually get wax on it. Is there anything I Can do to fix or help this without having to go back to the orthodontist??😬
Hi Ella sorry to hear that but there is nothing you can do it by yourself to fix it... :( you have to go back to your dentist and they have to cut that wire up and fix it for you!

Right side bottom teeth feels loose after eating cereal! Not the brackets the wire waved out between my teeth. Pushed it back but …. I have realised gaps now that side .

@@ToothTime this is my 3rd mouth. I had braces before and have been wearing retainers until my second time having braces so my teeth are pretty straight, now (2weeks ago)I have took away 2 teeth

The squares are brackets, the wire is attached to the brackets with ligatures or other thin wires. The whole thing is called braces. It's to align your teeth.
Lol, actually they're not part of my braces. They are called crowns. It's like a tooth protector. It keep the tooth from damaging itself. If tooth time didn't put that on me, they would have break. 😋

the appointment of changing wires takes for about 20 minutes if you don't have any broken bracket to fix....

Just wanna know is Tooth Extraction painful for braces? I am gonna get that
had 4 teeth extracted. two teeth per visit. it didnt hurt at first bc of the anesthesia but you'll feel the pain after a few hours. good luckkk

@@hashamofficial558 it was mild for me i dont think it hurt that much n yep there will be gaps. its been almost a year of wearing braces for me n the gap isnt fully closed yet. as for flossing, idk how to explain but you can watch youtube videos!
