    1. Sleeping on your face can cause wrinkling of the skin overtime.
    2. Not getting enough sleep for your body to repair. Skin cell turnout decreases.
    3. Have balanced diet. Do Dietary research.
    4. Sunscreen Needs to be used properly everytime you go out(even in car, dont forget reapplication) . No exceptions
5.Not playing proper attention on your neck and chest
    6. Use spf and clothes that protect you from the sun too.

I rather sleep comfortably on my sides (without stucking my face in the pillow), wear sunscreen and use tretinoin than worry that every thing that I do will cause wrinkles. I want to enjoy my life and not be afraid of not looking perfect at 60

yeah like looks aren't that important and shouldn't be your number one priority. I am pretty sure 60 year old me will not care so much about it, but she might regret not enjoying herself in the past just to look better. I MEAN IT DOESNT MAKE SENSE WHY ARE WE ALL SO CONCERNED ABOUT LOOKING OLD OMG. Beauty does not pick sides not ages, everyone is perfect

I'm 60 this month and believe me, you WILL care how you look at this age. Being mindful of your skin needs doesn't detract from "having fun". 60 isn't actually old. 60 still affords you to dress up, wear makeup AND have fun. Being able to do this at 60 is wonderful, being able to do this and feel attractive is amazing.
Be wise, and listen to Cassandra. You honestly will want to thank her later. xx

It really is. Our lifestyles are generally unhealthy and not conducive to healthy aging, but most of the things people push and add on, like topicals are pointless. There is no FDA regulation on supplements or cosmetics. Even people who are believed to be experts....like a skin care professional...don't really have any authoritative insight on these things because they don't have access to medical literature. Even clinical physicians don't always make things outside of their specialty a priority to keep up with.

I see your point about sleeping and your face being smooshed into the pillow, however there have been studies done showing that side sleeping position is the best to get good quality sleep as it removes the most waste chemicals from the brain while you sleep and also is the least likely to cause snoring which obviously reduces sleep quality. And the buildup of brain waste can contribute to Alzheimer’s disease and other neurological conditions. So even though you might not be pressing on your face by sleeping on your back I think quality of sleep and how well your brain cleanses itself is more important. Great video though thank you for the tips

Fats are very important but it‘s better to get them from whole foods so the body doesn‘t need to handle oil alone but it comes packed in a whole lot of nutrients, secondary plant substances and fiber. It’s a little like with sugar, fruit sugar alone is very bad but packed into the fruit the body handles it well. The package in which your nutrients are coming is important. :)
Also dark chocolate isn‘t super healthy, yes it has some benefits but there would be way more benefits and less cons if you ate cocoa nibs or cocoa.
Green tea and flax seeds are bomb though!
And don‘t forget leafy greens, vegetables, beans, legumes and fruit!

I'm 38, not in the greatest shape by any means (actually overweight by 65 pounds, but am actively addressing this, several months ago I was 125 overweight, so doing good!), but I get a LOT of people who think I am in my late teens, I am only recently getting a few very faint fine lines on forehead. No fancy creams, lotions, and other "self care" things, and no fancy diet. In fact, I do VERY little. The only thing I do with my face is daily washing with warm water, and with sunflower oil and sugar scrub 1-2 times a week. NOTHING ELSE, no makeup, creams, serums, masques, treatments, and no, no botox or fillers! I don't use screen (with exception when I plan on being out for a long time, but I prefer a parasol instead), but I've been actively staying out the sun and keeping my skin very pale since I was 14. My diet is lots of meat, milk, whole grain fiber-truth be told, I'm not a veggie and fruit fan so I don't eat much of them (but I am allergic to many fruits and veg, so it keeps things simple). I make sure to avoid stress, drama, fast food, and too much caffeine and sugar, NO ALCOHOL OR SMOKING. I keep a VERY strict early bedtime/early wakeup time (sleep @ 8:30ish, wakeup @ 4 for my morning workouts at 5am). I don't guzzle soda (hate it actually) and guzzle TONS of water. Not much to it all.

It took me a while to get used to sleeping on my back. I’ve noticed that if I accidentally roll over on my side, I can feel it in the morning! My neck and back will hurt, my face will be puffy, bags under my eyes, etc.

(Men who only sleep 6hrs a night can have testosterone and vitality levels of men 10 years older who get a good night's sleep etc). He says get between 7 to 9 hrs if possible, and that there is no evidence to show that too much sleep is bad for you (just loooads to show that too little is!) Thanks Cassandra, i love that you put the important positive message about the wisdom that comes with age, and the beauty of aging, rather than just focusing on how to stay looking young. Keeping your skin generally moisturized will help lessen sun damage. There's also natural oils and butters you can use as sunscreen for normal activity that isn't gonna have you in prolonged direct sunlight light. Raw shea butter and raspberry seed oil are my favorite natural uv protection. If I plan to be in the sun all day I'll use an actual sun screen that is a blend of natural ingredients for those concerned about chemicals going into the water or if you just prefer to be as organic as possible.

They change from ivory to purple, how dark that purple gets, depends on how much UV light there is. I found out there was no detectable UV light in my bedroom which has a northern exposure. But by my kitchen window with the sun coming in there was a moderate amount. The UV light rapidly dropped off, as I moved away from the sunlit window. Hope that helps some. 🌱

Hi Cassandra, I've been in a dilemma with sunscreens for years now. You see, I like using sunscreens. I do not have a problem with physical or chemical sunscreens. The problem lies in the way it leaves me looking greasy. I have oily acne prone skin and I've tried so many asian sunscreens that claim to leave the face looking matte but on my face even the matte turns oily in a few minutes highlighting my pores and other imperfections. I have been controlling this with baby powder, I just blot it on my face which instantly mattes everything down. But that highlights my hyperpigmentation. I just want to know how oily acne prone youtubers like you pull off such a matte finish although you don't wear makeup on top to matte the shine of the sunscreen. I hope you read this. Bye.

This way the pillow only touches your temple/ear area and supports your head. It made sense to me, even back then, and I have been doing that my whole life. It works. Also, for me, it's more comfortable than having to fight with one of those too soft flimsy, oversized pillow. I use a small throw pillow and it's super comfortable.

I only wish all the skincare/sunscreen and these useful tips were around when I was in my 20's. I'm 60 this month and whilst I really don't look bad for my age, I know I could've been looking better.
I've only been actively doing skincare for the last 4, maybe 5, years and I immediately saw a difference.
Please don't skip on your sunscreen.

I just want to say to every person who likes and enjoys to take care of their skin and appearance that IT IS NOT WRONG and it doesn't mean that you are afraid to age or that you are not loving yourself enough. On the contrary, many of us show our self love in that way and that's perfectly fine.
Be happy and live the way you want to live unapologetically🫶🏻
Thank you for the video, I loved it.

There's a litlee issue when you're a side sleeper. Every time I go to sleep after doing my skincare routine, I kinda get the feeling that all the product ends up all over my pillow and my face feels already dry shortly after :/. I'm a beginner. Does it always have to be done right before bedtime or is it okay to apply them a couple of hours before so it gets "sucked" into the skin properly?

I’d really recommend maybe saving up (if you don’t have national healthcare) and getting an allergen assessment. Once you figure out the specific ingredient you’re allergic to you can narrow down which sunscreens you can use. My boyfriend did this and found out that he was allergic to aloe Vera and that’s why he was blistering whenever he applied aftersun/cooling ointments.
It’s definitely worth the money. My mam got skin cancer at 30 for not wearing sunscreen so you really have to be careful.

@@Natasha-kc6ol I trained myself to sleep on my back. It took a few months but now I've been doing it for years. I read that sleeping on the back is better for your spine. I don't have diagnosed scoliosis but I get pretty severe back pain from standing for prolonged periods of time.

i recently tried to train myself to sleep on my back. as a life-long side (sometimes stomach) sleeper, i wanted the skin benefits of back sleeping. I tried for about 4 months. And I barely slept at all during that time. And my skin broke out in a way it never has in my entire 30 years of life! I’m talking massive hormonal acne (lack of sleep = stress = hormones = acne 🤗) Just went to show that quality sleep was more important for me personally. after i gave up back sleeping and started getting real rest (amongst other things) the acne cleared up. big kudos to anyone (like my sister!) who can actually sleep peacefully on their backs 🙏🏼

Cassandra I'd love to know your thoughts on the theory that washing your face in the shower is damaging. I hear frequently to never put your face under the shower head. That the water is hotter than normal in the shower and also that the stream of water coming down is too rough in combination with the heat. It's recommended to wash your face separately, in the sink. The theory has great points but on the other hand maybe it's a far stretch 🤔 I'd love your professional opinion !
