Thank you for showing the "reality" of sailing that most all other channels refuse to show. The plain simple truth is that not all sailing is going to be in calm seas and you get to cruise into paradise with less than 1M waves at 20sec intervals, sometimes getting to paradise requires sacrifice, strength, courage and fortitude. I am proud of you all for supporting each other and getting through a rough crossing.
Thanks for this comment and thanks for watching! We've watched many smooth crossing and hoped for one ourselves, but this was our reality :) I tell the kids you can't have the ups without the downs, but looking forward to more up days coming ahead!
CONGRATULATIONS to you!. The ONLY channel i follow that is wearing floatation gear on all family. You are to be commended for this. Respect to you and your family. You never know when, nor how fast things can go wrong, you have a head start. It matters not what your boat is worth, nor how much money you have, your life comes first. Cheers.... Subscribed.
We really appreciated seeing the reality of a rough crossing early on in your catamaran adventures. I really related to Shannon’s comments in the video through the worst of it - I have been very seasick before and can’t imagine a long day or longer with it. Keep up the awesome videos!
Enjoyed your video. Your wife and kids are real troopers, a bumpy ride is one thing but combine that with sea-sickness can make for a really long day. Next time it might make sense to leave a bit farther south like Key Largo, with the wind more to your back and sailing more with the current would help to smooth out the crossing.
Well Done to You all. Every time You sail in less arduous conditions You will enjoy it more. Fair Winds and Following Seas to You All. David. Down Under.
I have been waiting for someone to post a video like this. Thank you for sharing your reality. You've earned a subscribe from me and my family! Looking forward to catching up and to seeing what unfolds for y'all.
Hey Chris, thanks for the sub! If you're crossing the Gulf Stream, I hope you have a more comfortable one! But the Bahamas has been worth it since!! :)
Man, this was hard to watch... We want to get our family of 6 into a catamaran and sail away. Those are hard moments that I'd hate to see my kids and wife going through. Congratulations for making it and thank you for keeping it real. Subscribed! Cheers to you guys and calm seas ahead!
@@svhappysees Absolutely! We've converted a school bus and drove around the country for about 7 months during the pandemic...the memories are amazing and the hard days were there but, in the end, it all wears off and we're left with amazing experiences. Cheers!
Sing about putting out the sales depending on the conditions it could actually steady the boat off to one side instead I'm going to still going to be moving around but you know what the whale sales pushing on one side of actually steady the boat
I'm not trying to hate on you at all. But sailing would increase your stability and speed, you should be doing 10 plus knots with 20 apparent. One reef in the main, if that's to much throw the second reef in. Lastly dramimine before you get on the boat.

That passage was soooo long! Thanks for the comment and following along!
So sorry to see such a "brutal" crossing... wishing you smooth sailing.
Thanks for being real, we have a new Leopard 42 scheduled to be delivered this summer, these videos have been extremely helpful for preparation
Congrats on your L42 - great boats!
Thanks for sharing the rough crossing. Everyone did great sticking it out under the circumstances!
It wasn't easy but we made it! Thanks for following along!
Super excited ❤🙏🙏
Great job

Definitely a good idea for the next go at this!
Depth finder working no problem. You've got the windex. I learned to sail on a boat with no electronics. VHF and depth finder was it.
Saltine crackers work great if are starting to feel sea sick. Having sailed the Bearing Sea, in the 70's in the Coast Guard.
Added to the list! The kids love any excuse to stock up on snacks!
Not so happy sees... kudos for pushing through it!
Can't have happy sees without some days of rough sees right? :D Thanks for following along!

We agree! Hopefully we got our tough sail out of the way early.

There have been good and bads but these experiences definitely make this an adventure. Best wishes on your sailing plans and thanks for the comment!

The Bahamas are worth the trouble to get here. We are presently cruising Eleuthera, hoping to see you out there.

Y'all did really good is a rough passage you hung in there when you get in the Bahamas you're going to love it it'll be so protected
