This video is still one of the best drumming videos ever made. The creativity, the timing, the humor, the energy just come together in such a thrilling mix. I come back to this over and over. Great stuff.
Your covers are probably my favorite out of everyone on RUclips! Thank you for not feeling the need to show off every 5 seconds, it showcases your talent so much more!!
Well this is just brilliant! His face is brill, the slowing down and speeding up of the video to keep in time with the music is brill. Brill brill brill.
Dude great drumming, and by far the coolest video ever!! I was tripped out by the super fast one handed fill. The speed changes are the coolest concept Ive seen, Keep posing man!
What? The vid editing. How did they do the speed changes (several slow-mo and speed-up all in one take) and stay synchronized with the audio? Anybody?

Dude, depends on the velocity of slow montion x BPM's song. For example, if the song have 80 BPM you will need to play it at 160 BPM and film with slow motion at 2X or play at 240 BPM and film with slow motion at 3x, etc. Do you get it?
I don't think that's the case. If you notice there has defiantly been a slowing effect if you observe his hair and cymbal vibration etc. NOW, how the heck is he on pace with the tempo during those parts?? I'm going to take a guess and say that the BPM's were increased (to compensate) during those parts so that when it was slowed it matched tempo. Just a guess; but I'd say there was defiantly a slowmotion effect.
this is probably one of if not the best drum cover video i have ever seen. reason #1) ninja turtle mother effing drum kit. reason #2) this is currently my favourite ellie song. reason #3) your mannerisms are entertaining...and cute.
Great drumming, a great comedy aspect with great video effects. Too much perfectness for the internets... SHE'S GUNNA BLOWWWWWW *dives away from computer screen*
I don't know if there were cuts or not, but it is absolutely possible without cuts. He could've simply played those parts faster, he's just that talented. Also the audio he was listening to could've been edited so that those particular parts were faster so he could play along at that speed in the video. The audio for the cover was obviously recorded separately.
The way he does it is by speeding up the song. He plays the song at double, maybe even triple the speed, then when you slow down the video to the right tempo it gives it that slow-motion but keeping in time effect :)
yeah, that is kind of what I said I mean that the pieces that he played during the chorus in real time are double the speed as the normal song So in the montage when they hear his speed doubles the gonna slow it down with 50% and then it seems like he is playing in slo motion but the timing is still good
I think he might be playing the song with a faster click at some points and slowing it down during the editing process, Brad has really worked hard on this cover!
I know everyone already notices this, but I'll make it a bit more plain. He is DEFINITELY doing that roll at normal speed and it's not edited to go faster. He is also NATURALLY going in slow motion during the chorus. This video was not edited...at all. Brad can just bend time.
He'd be playing along to the track/a click that then plays at double speed where needed, so when those parts are slowed down by half, they're the correct timing.
The slow motion was absolutely awesome! I kinda expected some crazy shenanigans to go on though, like have the cars in the background change when we couldn't see them, or have a different drum set after the camera zoomed in on your face at 2:50 ish. Still a great video though
The effects don't meant that there wasn't more thought put into it. You do realize Luke Holland wrote every part to his video? That took a lot of thought and preparation on his part. Both versions are good but they're different from each other. It wouldn't be fair to say one is better than the other, they both took a lot of time and dedication.
I presume that he played the song but when we see it as "slo motion" he played double the speed. When it is super fast for us, like the beginning when he goes over the toms, he plays it half the speed. I hope you can understand what i'm saying. I want to clarify that this is my presumption :)
He just played all the parts that were slowed down at double the speed, so when he plays them at half speed it sounds normal. And if you have good sound equipment it won't sound distorted when slowed down, kind of like if you have a good frame rate on your camera you can put the video into slow motion and still have it move just as smoothly.
Still one of the most creative and sickest drum covers on youtube.
This video is still one of the best drumming videos ever made. The creativity, the timing, the humor, the energy just come together in such a thrilling mix. I come back to this over and over. Great stuff.
Has to be the best edit and drum depiction of time and rhythm. Miss ya Brad
Your covers are probably my favorite out of everyone on RUclips! Thank you for not feeling the need to show off every 5 seconds, it showcases your talent so much more!!
The slow motion is a PURE STROKE OF GENIUS.
dude the timing and recording tricks are goddamn genius
I can never stop smiling watching you play. This is phenomenal. Thank you.
Well this is just brilliant! His face is brill, the slowing down and speeding up of the video to keep in time with the music is brill. Brill brill brill.

This video is not just one of your best covers to date, it is a piece of cinematic heaven!
Forgot how badass this video was, glad I came back!
Brad, this video is awesome! One of the coolest covers out there. Your toms sounded amazing. Keep on making videos!
I love this. Definitely deserves more views. That sped up one-handed fill in the beginning is so funny and smart!
It's not sped up...I have also perfected the one handed 32nd note roll.
DoramaRx If you look at his face during the roll you can tell it was sped up.
Coming back to this. Still my favorite drum video ever.
Dude Bravo!!! Funny and just was a pleasure to watch. Dont stop what your doing.
This is the best cover ever!!! I watch it all the time.
Sick editing on this one! I love seeing a new AdventureDrums video in my news feed! I can't wait for the next one!!
Awesome cover man! I love watching these!
Haha love the slow/fast-motion parts!
Very well done xD
That is one of the best mixes I have heard in ages, good job bro :)

The plate gets me everytime! love it!
Best drum cover ever - this is full rockstar mode!
It was recorded live. I was there.
Awesome, very funny and creative as usual. Merry Christmas, and thanks for all the entertaining drum videos!
THAT WAS ACTUALLY SO SICK! THIS GUY IS THE BEST!
Its nice to see you again Brad Davis, good work.
A lot of very clever camera trickery! Speed up in some parts and slowed in others! You're a genius, Brad.
Very cool video. I really like how you didn't over play the song and embraced the simplicity. The editing is cool as well.
I love this guy... he both amazes me with his awesome drumming and cracks me up at the same time with his ridiculous antics. THAT is entertainment..
Mind blown at the chorus! The video looks slow motion but all the hits line up with the audio! Gah!
watched this so many times and i still try to wrap my brain about the whole slow down thing. love the cover!
Awesome production. Great video over all
Adventure drums!!! Where did you go!!!!!! 11 months with no new videos or anything!.. and they where are sooo good!!
Haha this was awesome! I love Brad's facial expressions.
OMG OMG , My favorite drummer + the song of my favorite singer = EPIC!!

You're so talented and silly, the BEST combination
just... great XD so unique and original! This video is much smarter than I...
Wow... The production value of this is insane!
This is such a quality video. Don't really know how you did it, but I love it!
1:58 Who throwed the plate?
this guy has the best cover for this beautiful song..............
This Video is insane. Very Creative.
hells yeah..great cover..adventure drums forever!!!
Do you play double time then they slow the video down by half to get that slow motion but on time affect? Bad ass...
The red cloth did it for me. You win the trophy, good sir. -Ellie Fan

Do you get it?
They edited the song's BPM at each part. Brad will play according to the BPM in the song which they edited. Lastly, they edit the video. Looks awesome
he played the slow-mo parts really really fast, and then slowed that part down in post. awesome stuff.
Ah I love your covers man!
that was just ridiculously awesome.
by far the best drummer on youtube
This is my absolute favorite cover of this song
this is so dope why doesnt it have more views
Likewise, sir. Your cover is quite great. You get me. I get you. we're cool. Looking forward to the new vidssssss.
This video is so bad ass. I love how at 3:20 you start to see the water jump with the sound of the kick.
I don't think that's the case. that ride sounds so good!
ABSOLUTEY AMAZING!!
GOD BLESS
Same here! It's incredible
I like how you sped up the video in those fills..then slowed it down to follow the beat. Idk how you did it but it was cool!
He'd be playing along to the track/a click that then plays at double speed where needed, so when those parts are slowed down by half, they're the correct timing.
Thank you so much for not saying "first". You now have my undying gratitude.
your drumkit i love it dude
lol dude! Loving what you just suggested.. I'd hope you know who Travis Orbin is lol That man is a god amongst drummers.
The slow motion was absolutely awesome! I kinda expected some crazy shenanigans to go on though, like have the cars in the background change when we couldn't see them, or have a different drum set after the camera zoomed in on your face at 2:50 ish. Still a great video though
Yes he was, haven't you seen his video of his announcement?
This video is pure genius.
Love your sound
How do you get the hi hat soo loose? Mines really stiff(TWSS!) and I wanna loosen it.

I want to clarify that this is my presumption :)
he did dedicate to 'Brad Davis' look at the description.
The "Truth" logo is not on the kick at the beginning of the video..
best cover on youtube right now
I suspected as much, but if it was recorded in studio, having mics set up on set is a bit of a tease ;)
Just watched the original music video, makes so much more sense now
He just played all the parts that were slowed down at double the speed, so when he plays them at half speed it sounds normal.
And if you have good sound equipment it won't sound distorted when slowed down, kind of like if you have a good frame rate on your camera you can put the video into slow motion and still have it move just as smoothly.
Awesome cover man so solid! :)
Was the beginning fast forwarded? Because that was crazy fast.
Then how is it still at the regular speed? If it was done how you say it would be at half speed
OMG! I want those TOMS.... did you decorate those? I'm dying!
His drums make the song sound even better.
crazy with that roll dude
This is great! love it so much :D
Does anyone know how to get the effect at around 1:00 looks awesome.
did he speed up the drum part he played and then slow the motion down?
Awesome recording!
Awesome editing! Where's the making off? :D
