I put my hand in that mouth. There wasn't a queue when we were there. If you haven't been to Pompeii you really should go. Lovely seeing places that we've been to. My son stays in Hostels when he goes abroad. He even did it when he went to New York. His 41 so you can do it at any age. We had a cold drink and roll in a cafe near the Vatican, it was really expensive. lol xx

My home is full of second hand stuff and I can't remember the last time I bought new clothes for myself or my family. My nickname is "Second Hand Rose", like the Streisand song! I was in Rome just before lockdown and it's a great city. You brought back some wonderful memories. Really love your content and wish I'd discovered your channel years ago!
My sister lives in Bari Italy with her husband. We went in 2008 we travelled to Rome and the got a train to Bari which took 5 hours. It was my first time abroad and my first flight, so I was too excited to sleep so I could experience my first flight. But then fell asleep on the train. But I'm gutted that I Di, because I missed seeing beautiful Italian scenery. Next time I go, hopefully within the next couple of years to see my sister, I hope to stay in Rome for a night or two before taking the train. Although you can get to Bari direct from Stansted.

Thanks for the video brought back some wonderful memories of our visit to Rome. When my Grandson threw his coin in the fountain he managed to completely miss the water and stotted a poor tourist on the head (they weren't hurt) itwas quite funny.
Haha so funny,it's thing like that you remember and look back on,we were in Tenerife and on the table next to us were four very large Germans eating massive ice creams,suddenly the huge parasol they were under clicked and closed engulfing all four of them ,there was uproar in the restaurant,the poor waiters try to free them ,we were all in hysterics,when they emerged they were covered in ice cream which had us all laughing hysterically again, they were last seen running from the restaurant to find a police man 😂 hilarious ! x

Great vlog! If ever you get the chance,I would highly recommend Bologna for your next Italian trip for the food which is arguably the best in Italy as well as its sights. I have lived here for over 40 years and am still in love with it😊.
I went to Rome on a day trip from a cruise a number of years ago. It was in the middle of July and was 44°C! Beautiful city but would to go back and see more, stay a bit longer.
Hey Iwan! Tremendous that you were able to get away to lovely Italia! Really looked like you enjoyed your holiday! Great room! Not a lot of greenery in Rome. Pretty architecture! But I think they need to try and plant more trees in the streetscapes
I went to Rome for a few days with a friend a few years ago. We had no expectations but were absolutely blown away. There was something of interest around every corner and everything was walking distance. Our hotel was a terrific find. Very small but perfectly positioned on a quiet street but only a two minute walk from the Trevi fountain and also close to an ice cream shop that we later found out is something of a foodie destination.
Lovely, you live a charmed life I am jealous! I doubt I'll be able to afford Italy anytime soon but I'm glad you were able to go. Getting there from the U.S. is $$$
Isn’t it weird how the Romans take for granted all the monuments around their city ( so do Londoners!). Everything is just so wonderful there. Hope you enjoyed yourself
You are right. I'm from Rome and it's true: we take all for granted. My university faced the Colosseum, so for me that was just a "normal" view outside the window and time to time I had to remind myself what an amazing thing I was seeing 😅
Such a nice vlog. I couldn't wait to watch. My husband and I visited Rome many years ago. We visited St. Peters, Spanish Steps, the Colosseum, Romeo and Juliets balcony and the fountain and Vatican City. I miss the gelato, pizza and pasta, lol. I hope to go back someday.

Loved your video as it gave a real insight of what Rome has to offer. I was there about 6 years ago on a trip arranged by my two sons. As you say it is essential to book popular venues in advance especially the Sistine Chapel which is fabulous.

Loved this video the room looks comfortable . I had a student stay with us for six months he lived in Rome . He took his driving test there I think he was very brave .

I have learnt now to under pack, especially on hot countries, washing dries fast in hot countries. Also you can pack items you buy to bring home as you have the space. 👍👍👍👍

On my goodness you bought back lots of memories,we went on a walking tour of Roma and we even crossed the road what an experience that was haha,our guide was an eighty year old Italian lady who was wonderful and extremely fit, I think we covered the whole of Rome that day and in that heat,thats how we found out off our guide that you can drink from anything which has water shooting out of it ,so she was filling our bottles up from fountains and random walls with water shooting from them,we loved every minute of it,thank you for that and the food Hummmm !! Xx By the way I'm Deffo an over packed ☺

Hello from Italy.😄I've been here for over 40 years (not Rome, but I know it quite well). Did you know that the 'Obelisco Flaminio' in Piazza del Popolo is ancient Egyptian? Pharaoh Sety had it made. It was brought to Rome in 10 BC.

Ah Rome😊 had wonderful time over there back in 2001. Went to the same places as you did apart from the coliseum as the queue was horrendously long (I went in July when it was high in heatwave, even using the metro was like being in the oven😅) I’m an over packer! I tried but always ‘what if’ or ‘never know if needed’ Hardly ever worn everything I packed!!🙃🤣
Loved this travel vlog! I went to Rome a few years back. Imagine my surprise when a man followed me up the Spanish steps with a 🌹 unfortunately my uncle said give it back he will charge you for it! Anyway it's a beautiful place but just keep your wits about you at the key tourist places x

Whenever I go way, I purchase post cards. However, I forget to mail them from host country, and I end up mailing them from my address.

Went to Rome in 2002 and climbed to the top of St. Peter’s cathedral dome. It was a tight squeeze but the view !

I'm an underpacker, I once managed a long weekend away with a 10L backpack but normally use a 30L one 😁 Italian food always looks so go 🤤😋

Hello from Italy.😄I've been here for over 40 years (not Rome, but I know it quite well). Did you know that the 'Obelisco Flaminio' in Piazza del Popolo is ancient Egyptian? Pharaoh Sety had it made. It was brought to Rome in 10 BC.

It is well worth taking a guided tour of The Vatican and depending on who you book the guide through you skip the queues
Great vlog, looks amazing. On our cruise this year our trip to Rome was cancelled as we couldn't dock, will try another year. That last photo of a plate of pasta looked awesome 😋😋😋 x

Ah Rome😊 had wonderful time over there back in 2001. Went to the same places as you did apart from the coliseum as the queue was horrendously long (I went in July when it was high in heatwave, even using the metro was like being in the oven😅) I’m an over packer! I tried but always ‘what if’ or ‘never know if needed’ Hardly ever worn everything I packed!!🙃🤣

Loved this travel vlog! I went to Rome a few years back. Imagine my surprise when a man followed me up the Spanish steps with a 🌹 unfortunately my uncle said give it back he will charge you for it! Anyway it's a beautiful place but just keep your wits about you at the key tourist places x
