The Cenobites deserve the top spot here. I mean they literally torture you for all eternity! Most of these others just eat the person's souls, they can't literally take your soul to hell (pardon me but how many of these people are Christians? If they're actual demons then they can only hurt you while you're alive, after death their souls would be going to heaven unless God and his forces are quite weak).

TheTonyahawk Many fictional mythologies make it so once human souls can turn into demons if they are worthy enough or tortured enough, it is one of the topics that the Hellraiser comic touches. I personally wouldn't say they are "demons" in the traditional sense of the word but they are the servants/priests of leviathan which could be described as a supreme evil entity, this is similar to the traditional judeo christian mythology which would make it so Leviathan is a representation of the devil and the cenobites his demons. Also in the comics there is the mention of a goddess that is the opposite of Leviathan, she is good and also has people who fight against the cenobites in her name.
What Lewis Weir said. You might be tempted to think if it as an Alien, but that would merely mean that it is a living, breathing, vulnerable being from another planet. As I understand it, Pennywise is closer to C'thulhu than to a Predator.

She says this just before the Doctor is tortured, then reborn as a cenobite version of himself. It is the Doctor who turns the previous Cenobites back to human when he kills them. Showing them proof of their lost humanity creates a moment of hesitation, which is what Kirsty was hoping for to give her and Tiffany a chance to escape them when she inevitably encountered the Cenobites. What she didn't expect was Pinhead's appreciation, and his act of penance in allowing the Doctor to kill him without a fight, giving Kirsty and Tiffany even more time to get away. Of course, Kirsty watches the whole thing, wasting whatever time Pinhead may have bought them.
Demons to some Angles to others. The embodiment of physical pleasures and pain. Your soul determines which they are, well before the series turned to shit anyway.
If you pause at 1:35 you'll see a demon behind the doll.
Dante Leevond
Nice
I didn't know that cool
1:36
Ok that’s cool. I’ve heard Annabelle isn’t that good though? I wanna see it.
Thanks now i'm gonna have nightmares xD
The fact the Annabelle series gets so much praise as being a great film shows how low our standards have become for the horror genre
"Your mother sews socks that smell!!!!", "Father, would you pass me that bowl of split pea soup?" and "The bed is on the floor! The bed is on the floor! The bed is on the floor! The bed is on MY FOOT!!!!" SNL and Richard Pryor do The Exorcist.
Hellboy is in no way terrifying. Ron Peralman is amazing, the perfect drinking buddy.
The Cenobites should have been in the Top 5. And why on Earth was the Balrog in the Top 5? It's pretty lame when compared with so many of the other demons on the list. And Hellboy isn't even terrifying.
Good grief! What were you people thinking?!
Hey. What do you mean, you people?
Sinster above Hellraiser, you guys are off your fucking tree!
It's a superior movie, no matter how you spin it.
5:19 That's not what facetiously means. Facetiously means "treating serious issues with deliberately inappropriate humor; flippant." A better sentence would be "As their leader Pinhead was not named arbitrarily."
What about the priest from the Poltergeist franchise? He still gives me chills
This list was total shit except for Pazuzu, Deadites, and Cenobites. The research team at WatchMojo should be fucking fired or get time off to actually watch horror movies. I mean Hellboy? Really??
Yeah, the list was supposedly about terrifying demons, but what's terrifying about hellboy?
Totally agreed. What about Pennywise (It), Randall Flagg (the Stand), the Witch (the Witch), Leatherface (Texas Chainsaw Massacre), André Linoge (Storm of the Century), Grant (Slither), Gabriel (the Prophecy), the Tall Man (Phantasm), the Pale man (Pan's Labyrinth), Dr. Evil (House of 1000 corpses) ... just some thoughts?
Anytime I hear the name Pazuzu I just think of him from Gorillaz
Pennywise? Seriously? How bout a REAL demon that EATS HIS VICTIMS, like Frowny Face?
Maybe you are only born to have seen the remake? ... Tim Curry definately made Pennywise a creepy badass!
can we all just remember Pyramid head for a second? I think he's a pretty terrifying demon
How did you not quote Pinhead saying "demons to some, angels to others"?
I subscribed bro lol
The 'Sinister' antagonist was one of the freakiest I thought.
Who else is disappointed that they didn't add Chernabog to this list?
He's a god, not a demon.
Hm. My top 10 demons from movies, I have to go with...Bughuul.
Running out of ideas?
Top 10 Terrifying Midgets in movies
The Lollipop Kids from the Wizard Of Oz would be my #1;)
TheTonyahawk Uhh... have you seen Freaks?
Aurodeep Kamal Vern Troyer in gnome!!!!!!!!!!!! And to fucking top it off I've had a lawn gnome phobia since childhood
Pinhead and Chatter are my 2 favorite Cenobites from the Hellraiser franchise.
