Wow this brought back so many good memories. Iv been a follower since K-Zoo days, now I have to admit iv not watched any videos in the last few years (life got in the way) I refound your channel when watching RUclips shorts, and got hooked again. Then I found this video and felt so sad and happy at the same time lol. What got me was seeing the wall at the steps in the old lab where you had all the name plates and remember the day I saw my name up on the wall and feeling so happy. You have done some amazing work and helped people along the way. I hope you continue doing what you do and continue inspiring people as you go.
    Thank you.

Thank you sir! I remember you :) and I'm sincerely thrilled you're still here after all this time. It was a pretty rough ride there for a few years, but I'm back, and there's still science to teach. I think you're going to really enjoy the new direction and style of videos on here, and just wait until you see what happens on the OTHER channel in a few months. :)
It gets better sir. It gets better.

This channel is awesome and I know that kid’s mom is probably wonderful, working to go out of her way to help enrich her son and do something cool together as my mom was the same way when I was his age, 15 years ago 😅 Helping to educate and expand people’s minds and spark their creative spirit while helping to provide a wonderful source of educational and informational resources to learn, create and solve the engineering problems of today and hopefully tomorrow.

I only recently re found your channel and man this unlocked so many memories from when I was young. You are the reason I even got in to engineering and why I even have the job I have today.
I could never forgot your iconic attitude and voice that always have me a smile

I just stumbled across your channel watching the power plant turbine project. I had no Idea you were The Geek Group! and as a Grand Rapids Native that has moved to New Orlean. I remember the Geek Group very fondly. Thank you for the awesome memories.

Oh man, as someone else said that got me right in the feels. I came here because of the entertaining hydro plant stuff and now I've discovered you have such a rich back catalogue of doing things to help people. I'm already being recommended Captain's Blog archives so I'll be off to watch that when I can. Please keep being you.

Wow, I can completely relate. I came here to write similar. I arrived here from hydropower-plant YT shorts and ended up in tears after learning about something so wonderful and beautiful as the geek group, feeling inspired and like I've found my muse, then heartbroken to watch it shut down, to arrive at excited to see what came next. What a trip man. Looking forward to what comes next.
I fully expected this video and your comment to have thousands of likes... I'm surprised as I'm sure this would resonate with many people everywhere.

That was sad, and at the same time learning your now on the next path to show us what can be learned. My thoughts of every school kid who thinks out of the Box needs to be around like people to grow. Nowadays they can't do this type of thinking because so many schools don't have the classes, and labs and shops to teach. very sad. I was lucky in my education. 👍✌

I look forward to seeing how you truly help our extremely broken judicial system. You are about to have an experience and outlook that 99.9% of people will never know or see. And the ability to possibly fix it. I have no doubt if anyone can do that, it is you.

Wish I had more to say when I visited the lab, but I can attest to what Mr. Singer addressed. It was all emotions at once, happy, but mostly sad. I grew up watching Captain's blog, and it was my entertainment at lunch every day. From the gas meter device and the possible $20 to who can guess what it was correctly, to the gradual progression of lab, and maybe the occasional run-ins with hoodlums. It was as if there was never a dull moment. Most people will ride by the location of what used to be the lab and will never know what happened, and what was accomplished there.

Dude your channel is so under rated. I've had the good luck of working on aircraft, then standby generators 60HZ, 25-600KW. Then seeing your 500KW powerplant footage it really connected the dots. Absolutely amazing see the guts of a powerplant! Thank you so much! Fucken eh.

Chris, I know you don't know me from Adams house cat. But I have been following you, and The Geek Group for years. I love, and miss the equipment autopsy videos you used to do. Because I used to tear things apart to see how they work as a kid. So, I was living my childhood vicariously through you, and I loved it. I remember seeing the videos of the fire and subsequent renovation of the lab in Grand Rapids. I watched for 3 hours while you pressure washed the ceiling of the high voltage lab, wishing I were there to help you. I don't know the details about the raid, and what caused you to have to close the lab. But, I know that I saw a man trying to, as you used to say all the time, eliminate world suck. I know there are people all over the world that had the world suck removed from their lives, directly or indirectly. I'm just sorry that it all had to end because I know you had the best of intentions. I love the power plant series of videos and I watch for when each one drops. I don't know what the future holds for you, my friend. But just know that you have the admiration and respect of a 55 year old man in Maine. On a side note, I talked to my 22 year old son last night and he is, as we speak trying to get a cold war era gamma radiation detector working. A chip off the old block? Probably so. Cheers from Maine my friend😁👍🦞

My dude, you may be out there, you may piss people off sometimes, you may have made some questionable choices in your 40-odd years on this little blue marble, but I can say one thing with absolute and unwavering certainty:
You are a force for good.
I am glad you are you, and I thank you for it.
See you on the other side.

I just ran across this video tonight.
I was so thankful someone was doing what you did. But I am now angry at what happened to you. I don’t know all the details, but even if the accusations were true, this place should never have been shut down. Your intentions seem very pure. I hope you can come back, or someone will continue your vision ❤

Somewhere in the video you talked about learning to make videos on your own, without a production team. You have succeeded. At different places this video made me sad, and depressed, but there were more places that inspired, and impressed me. You give me hope. Like you I am a teacher. I tell my students That I didn't become a teacher for the glory, wealth, and power. I do it because it's work that matters. Showing people that they are far more capable than a they realize, and point them in the right direction. I am slowly getting people to believe that we need a kind of maker space in the STEM Center. Persistence will payoff. This video helps with the persistence. Thanks for welcoming us to your shop.
