you can look at paintball hoppers for inspiration. Some of them use magnetic transmission to avoid jams, when jamming, the "carousel" will jerk back because of the magnetic coupling, this will "unjam" the bb., anyway they have many design features that make them great, you can load tens of thousands without any jam. Some of them even maintain pressure in the loading tube which can improve the firing rate. Generally, the paintball guns would be a good choice for you project, some of them can be converted to .50 cal instead of .68, and you can find .50 bbs, even defensive ammo such as pepper or plaster. The software control they have is excellent, they can use an "eye" in the chamber to shoot as soon as the ball hit the firing position and it will prevent any ball "chopping", they use electronic firing switch, they can make the gun shoot in ramping mode (full auto maintained by pressing the trigger quick)
@@bobhightower8822 with a paintball gun you can launch a .50 hard ball to probably 400 or 500 fps, without any modification, it should reach 60 yards. You can get a longer barrel and tweak the software settings right in the UI to increase the dwell (solenoid duration of opening). If you need more you can tune the bottle hpr to higher pressure (I remember that good paintball bottle reg are tunable and can range from around 250psi to 800psi), moreover the paintball guns are designed to push way harder, they are rated around 14 joules, compare to the 1-2joules for the airsoft. What I like about the paintball guns is their manufacturing quality and reliability if you go high end, I don't mean that airsoft is weak, but the replica constraints and lower volume on one specific model make them less reliable and tough. The eclipse ego has a .50 cal conversion kit

feedling BB's into tubes 1 by 1 is how most airsoft magazines work. That's why there is a device specifically made for feeding airsoft bb's into tubes 1 by 1, it's called a speed loader. You fill a bunch of bb's in it, and then push a button a few times. each time you push the button it will load a couple bb's(usually like 4).
Nicely done! If you want to use it somewhere with more lights (or outdoors), consider putting narrow bandpass filters of the same wavelength as the LEDs over the image sensors to prevent false targets. I didn't see a mention of the wavelength you're using, but ~950nm is a good choice as little light from the sun gets through the atmosphere but it is still visible to silicon image sensors. You can also pulse the LEDs on alternate frames to detect and ignore very bright light sources that still make it through the bandpass filter. It will still target your glasses though ;)
Amazing build, both appearance and engineering! love that. As for missing on moving target, it seems needing to aim in advance, calculating future collision point depending on target and projectile speed

finally an extreme supermaker. congratulations, really👍🏻 especially for the software. As a mechanic, all those gears create backlash. If I can give you some advice,. the clearpaths you used have a huge torque, connect the motors directly to the camera/barrel block, (I don't know how to describe it, have you ever seen how a playstation joystick stick is made? the analog stick mechanism), the clearpaths have an encoder which corrects the position in real time, so you will have 0 backlash.
Yo this was so much wildly better build quality than I expected from a youtuber with 35k followers. Like, this is miles better than creators who have 100x bigger channels, you should be really proud of this, and be ready to go viral and get huge
Damn my wrist hurts just looking at it even before I knew its 22lbs, lol. Lol could just tell from your voice when mentioning "V4" your brain wanted a much needed a break from the project. Hey props on keeping it true to form when you ran into all those obstacles. People tend to overlook all those redesigning issues you might face since you kept it looking fairly similar through in and out. Changing one part here or there, you might have to scrap to a complete rework from the inside out just for bracing issue alone. The feeling of producing something in all metal instead of plastic for once must feel nice and an accomplishment in its own.
Nice! Here’s a thought for v4: Able to aim without needing reflectors, in low light, avoiding eyes. And instead of up being connected to side into a diagonal, it has complete 360 by 360 by ”x” movement, so it can aim at any point in front of it, as well as a cone around itself. That cone is maybe even up to 180, which allows sideways shooting! Perhaps sideways movement, so it can pass your chest, and shoot backwards!
I'm super impressed with the effort & skill that went into this. The project is at least as good as anything by Stuff Made Here, possibly better due to skilful workarounds required by budget constraints.
A long time ago a guy made an airsoft/paintball sentry. This is pretty much 2024 version of that! Great job! Some things, the feeding wheel is great you basically made an electronic airsoft box mag normally found with LMG guns. There are many Box Magazines and normal "Hi-cap" magazines that use a coiled spring to maintain BB feed pressure. Generally pretty useful on very high ROF especially since initial firing may result in some misfeeds until the motor catches up to the feeding. As for the feeder geometry, you pretty much got close to what the "Odin Speedloader" does to refill airsoft mid-cap magazines. Its 'snail' like design rarely ever jams and its a good geometry to follow. You can push the Polarstar F2 to shoot faster with some proper tuning. The main adjustments in the F2 are DR, DN, DP and RF. RF you can set as high as possible as the system will only shoot as fast as DR, DN, DP cycles. DR = How long the nozzle waits before DP starts, (Basically time between DN, and DP). Set as low as possible until FPS becomes inconsistent. DN = How long the nozzle is pulled back for, (lower PSI, usually results in this # requiring to be higher, whereas if your running at a high 120PSI, the nozzle can snap back faster, and this # can be lowered) DP= How long air is shot down the barrel for, You can lower this until FPS start to drop, there is a science between "Undervoluming and Overoluming" with other effects on Muzzle Velocity. Generally though, Undervoluming usually results in better accuracy at a cost of lower muzzle energy. Bumping RPS is pretty easy but it will strain your feeding performance. Barrel accuracy is pretty important for consistency sake, we produce custom lapped R-hopped barrels to improve range and flight characteristics of the BB. Another thing to note is barrel 'whip' When the airsoft barrel fires, there is micro vibrations and possibly some peak harmonics induced on the bore. I'd suggest supporting the end of the barrel with something and have the contact point be an O-ring or so. I'd be more than happy to produce one for you at no charge.

This video is absolutely underrated, this thing with a real firearm would be gnarly.
Most impressive video I’ve seen in years! 👏👏👏
This was awesome. Thank you!
Everything about this video is AAA triple frickin A. How the heck does this not have 100X the views?!?!?
finally an extreme supermaker. congratulations, really👍🏻 especially for the software.
Hands down, this is absolutely the most advanced build on youtube.
Oh come on that guy is clearly aimbotting, reported.
You ar the man! Nice work.
Well done, man. Future of airsoft and paintball.
19:15 is the point I was literally laughing out loud. Great work and interesting to watch. Thank you!
Incredible! Surely someone from the weapons industry came knocking after this video. This together with the new Atlas...
Wow that you can make all this is amazing
The content I'm using RUclips for. Good job!
Nice! Here’s a thought for v4:
Able to aim without needing reflectors, in low light, avoiding eyes.
DN = How long the nozzle is pulled back for, (lower PSI, usually results in this # requiring to be higher, whereas if your running at a high 120PSI, the nozzle can snap back faster, and this # can be lowered)
DP= How long air is shot down the barrel for, You can lower this until FPS start to drop, there is a science between "Undervoluming and Overoluming" with other effects on Muzzle Velocity.
I'd be more than happy to produce one for you at no charge.
this video unironically motivated me to learn for my Math 3 exam i was procrastinating to
your a genius and that actullay a great video
I see someone is going to work on defense contracts soon...
Awesome stuff.
This is Amazing content‼️
holy hell. this is awesome
