I don’t usually comment but felt like I wanted to say something. Just got to the part in the video where you’re talking about your goals for the new year, and one of them is trying to put less pressure on the content you make online. I am just one person but I would honestly watch content of you knitting for half an hour and chatting (no offence intended to the knitting community). When I watch someone’s content regularly, I watch it for them (who they are as a person) as opposed to the content of the video they put out. I watch your videos because you come across as funny, kind, and homely, so wether you have the most exciting week ever, or just want to show off taking the cat food out the freezer, I will still watch and still find you just as entertaining.
Lucyyy I’m only at the 30:00 minute mark but I just had to come on here and say that you truly have been my favourite vlogger for months and I would have never in a million years guessed you’d be in any way insecure about the content you share or the way you dress. I love both soo much! You’re easily one of the funniest and most authentic people in my subscription box and I am in absolute awe of your writing success and the way you followed this dream.
My cat is 14.5 years old and she has always struggled with cat food and I’ve had to change her food several times. She’s really poorly at the moment, which has been exhausting for both of us and she’s due for an ultrasound on Monday to see what’s wrong, seeing Lucy talking about Flo and all the things Lucy has got up to was much needed and helped cheer me up out of such a dark place.
@ thank you very much Lucy, really kind of you. They think it’s intestinal lymphoma, so I’m beside myself and I find out tomorrow what is wrong. Squeaky (my cat) loves watching you and Flo x
Appreciate you Lucy 🤍 Your presence online is so comforting for me and you make a difference in this world. I really appreciate you being vulnerable with your goals 🩷
Your chat about confidence online, trying to predict negative responses and perceptions, and how that kills creativity really resonated with me - it’s such an exhausting habit and I’ve developed it over the years too, unfortunately 😅 It was so helpful hearing how you’re approaching it for your goals this year! Love your videos and can’t wait for more in 2025 💜
@@LucyJaneWoodI’m just watching now as a busy Sunday!! On the little book chat, I’m on my third book this year too. I started with Weyward by Emilia Hart which I highly recommend it was an amazing read. Queen of Shadows (tog book 4) after and now on Crescent City 1 so I’m obviously on a Sarah J Maas kick! Flo trying to get into your wedding dress bag is so real, our cat is obsessed with boxes and bags 🙄🤣
It’s wild for me to watch you set your goals for the year as someone who is dealing with a disease. I hadn’t realized until this past year how all of those categories and goals can disappear with a snap of a finger and be replaced with simply “survive”. It seems cliche to say that you don’t know what you have until it’s gone, but man, what I would give to have personal and professional goals again. Which is all to say, set the goals, but be so gentle with yourself and exist in a place of gratitude that you are in a position with the privilege of simply living life.
Lucy, I discovered you in 2024 (how did it take me so long to come across your content?!) and I just have to say that you and your goals/life are not boring at all! I've noticed you saying that about yourself a lot in your videos, and as someone who also has lacked a ton of confidence in myself for basically my entire life, I just want to lift you up and say that I love your vlogs and your IG content so much (I don't have TT so can't comment on that, lol). It's always so cozy and comforting in this hectic and demanding world. Please keep doing what you're doing and I'm so looking forward to everything you create in 2025. Much love
You are such a breath of fresh air in this space and I LOVE seeing you grow confidence as a writer. A bit morbid, but my attitude is to live life for yourself, no one else will be in your coffin. Other people can judge and laugh and make comments but them investing energy in me and my plans is more a sign of how interesting I am and how cool my goals are than anything that I need to change. The cat food segment was excellent.
I'm so happy you're back! It's been a really hard time in my life, and your videos have been such a comfort- they always feel like hanging out with a friend. Thank you for continuing to show up and be real and vulnerable, Lucy. 💜 Your light shines so bright! We see you, and appreciate you so much. 🌻✨✨
Hi, I just want to say I am so happy your back!! I love watching your videos and reading your books hehe I loved that you opened up to us about your goals and I can relate a lot to them! I know it's easy to say don't like the negativity get to you, but you truly do have a bunch of us that adore you! I am so excited to be a part of your 2025! ❤️
“Feeding two birds with one seed” 😊 Love all this and can’t wait to follow along! Weirdly excited about the style portion. I’ve loved being introduced to new-to-me brands through your links.
I'm super here for the cat food chat too! Love seeing Flo always 💜🐈 nice to know about katkin, i have tried a ton of subscriptions that have failed so hard 😂😂
Love the chats 🙌 your videos feel like catching up with a friend 🙈 which feels weird to say to a stranger on the Internet 😅 but that's the vibe I get 😊
Lucy I loved hearing your January vision for the year and the goals you have and even your affirmations. I would also feel vulnerable sharing that, but it blessed me to hear another’s. I’m glad you shared and felt a sort of commoradery in our shared human-ness while you were sharing🤍 thank you!
I started shopping at Joanie after seeing your video in December - treated myself to the fox waistcoat and the black velvet skirt as it looked so lovely on you and it's now my favourite outfit! Thank you for your lovely vlogs, they are a real point of joy for me :)
I hope this helps: I love coffee. My best friend HATES it. That doesn't mean coffee isn't good; it's just not for her. Your content isn't going to be for everyone -- but it IS important for those of us who enjoy it. You provide positivity and light in a space that is otherwise very dark.
Yay hooray for January cliches! Yes to goal setting, gratitude journaling, dedicated screen-free reading time, getting more comfortable in the kitchen, calendaring social time ... I'm right there with you for all of it ❤❤❤
Love that the weekly vlogs are back, such a Sunday treat! I've always found making goals for the entire year really overwhelming, so last year I started doing them bi-monthly instead and it's really worked out great so I'm for sure gonna keep doing that this year too.
Something that I’ve learned about having a minimalist/capsule wardrobe for the last 5-6 years is that when you’re wearing the same clothes day after day, they wear out so so much faster. And you can’t buy clothes that are high quality enough to outrun them getting worn out.
So happy you're vlogging again - my fave! 🥰 would love you to share the healthy lunch meals you learn to prepare/cook - I am pretty useless at cooking too and would love some inspiration!
I highly recommend doing a colour analysis as a part of your wardrobe journey! It helps with avoiding buying things that you regret/don't feel comfortable in. And it would just be a fun and interesting video!
I set a goal last year to cut down on screen time too and used the app Opal and it worked wonders for me because I'm inherently impatient so waiting for a count down clock to then take a break to access an app just is too much effort for me so I found myself putting my phone down more and being more present!
“Some kind of Scandinavian stylish fisherman” 🤣🤣 thank you for another beautifully cozy vlog ! I loved Margaret Atwood’s writing course thing she did on Masterclass by the way. A nice return to basics and she is so funny !
Lucy I sooo relate to your feelings/goals surrounding food and cooking. I’ve only ever successfully made one dish in my life. Thankfully, like you, I have someone else I can rely on for mealtimes but it doesn’t feel great . I hate that for most of my adult life I’ve relied on really simple meals, ready meals, canned/tinned foods. I just find it so overwhelming and frustrating when attempting to cook because I have almost no knowledge whatsoever, it all just seems so complicated. So this year I’ve decided to give it a go. Like you, my partner is going to be teaching me how to make some of my favourite meals sooooo hopefully this time next year Gordon Ramsay will be replaced by me!
I am new here! I’m so glad I found your channel. Once you started talking about the cat food and when I saw all the Gilmore Girls items, I knew I found a good channel 😂
A good cook book to start with is an old copy of the Bero cookbook or similar. Something dating from the sixties to eighties. They contain all basic pastry, cake etc that you need to know to function. It sounds like carb city. The point is, it teaches you basic stuff. Then you can adapt other recipes to suit your needs. So if you want to make gluten free flan case, or a cheese free quiche you already know how to make a flan case or quiche Etc. and you never have to buy premade things if you don’t choose to. Leaves it more up to you. In short, get an old fashioned basic book aimed at starting out and covering core recipes. Charity book stalls in museums are great places to look.
Lucy, I love "socialise (at least) once a week"! It's been my mode of operation for the last 6 months. I was consumed by my work & stressors and getting out to see one friend for one night a week was my mandatory social life benchmark. It works wonders and the humans you love will happily comply with seeing more of you I can report! :)
I’m getting married next month! My fiancé and I have decided that on the day, our main goal is to have a great day and not sweat the small things. The most important thing is we’re getting married ❤ with our favourite people to see. But the main event is us, and we want to soak it all in together! We’ve delayed our honeymoon to next year because getting married is so expensive 😅
This video was a lovely way to start my Sunday morning! How exciting to pick up your wedding dress!! I resonated with a lot of your goals and enjoyed hearing your thought process concerning that. I'm a crazy cat lady so you can absolutely talk about anything cat related.
Look forward to reading your second book :) will you also have a special cover edition for it? I want to pre-order but last time I jumped straight on the first one and didn't realise you had a second cover with the gorgeous spray edges ❤ so keeping my eyes peeled for that one 👀
What a surreal moment picking up your dress, so happy for you! ❤️ If you can't store your dress at Adams parents.... Pop it in a double duvet cover. (Sound mental) My dress lady told me to do this and hang it diagonally in it . I could hang it in the house off the top of our wardrobe without my husband getting a glimpse and the dress bottom didn't crinkle and crease ❤️
I’m here for the cat food chats, fellow cat lover and owner (although tbh I feel like they own me at this point haha). I finished off my good reads last year with a John Grisham book called The Racketeer and tbh it’s every crime thriller lovers dream and also two incredible Freida McFadden books called One By One and The Red Door and I’ve started this year reading The Whistler by John Grisham again because I’m obsessed with the way he writes ❤I think after seeing you look gorgeous in every piece I’m going to have to have a browse at nobody’s child ❤
Here’s to learning some new lunch recipes. You can do it 💪💪💪 We had to get another freezer for our cat food, but it was worth it. Hmm… a vision board is a good idea. I’m also a floor space person. Get a nice big open space to get the clear overview. Thanks for the inspiring vlog! My brain’s latching onto the vision board idea. 😆
will you do a best books of 24 video? I feel like I am reading a year behind you but always enjoy your reccomendations. Piranesi was a top read for me in 2024 thanks to you!
I wasn't going to do Resolutions....but you inspired me to write down some strategies to make my life "better." Not perfect, just better! Thanks and have a great 2025!
At the end of last year I became obsessed with Keri Lake. My first book by her was Nocticadia and I LOVED it. Dark academia of my dreams. I've since read Anathema which was also a 5 star for me and now I'm reading Nightshade. The obsession is real. Highly recommend for any ACOTAR girlies who love a Gothic feel.
I listened to the cat food recommendation with interest Lucy, as I too have picky princesses ( Flo x 2 basically 😮)…I could listen to you (yap) all day, in fact I wish you were my neighbour as with most places nowadays people are so busy you don’t get round to being neighbourly. I used to be friendly with my last 2 neighbours but they moved ( hopefully not because of me !) I have been around for a few years and can remember when you just started dating Adam and now you are getting married to him. He honestly is the most considerate caring partner I have come across in awhile, you are getting fantastic people when you marry.i wish you all the love and luck in the World Lucy and I know it’s late but Happy New Year to you both 🎉🎉oh and kisses and a stroke for Flo please too xxxxx
I can now understand why some authors choose to have a pen name and remain anonymous. The online world is brutal. I hate seeing how your sparkle has dulled. Sending a big hug xox
I've got 60 pages left of Rewitched. It's made me think about so many things (other than the LA fires). My mum, my job, my lack of a circle of friends, wanting to read tarot cards. I'm not sure where to go book wise next.
oh em geeee Lucy I am so desperate to know what wedding dress you went for. I tried on dresses at this shop but didn't end up buying anything. We have very similar body shapes and I am so curious eeeeek, How exciting for you!
A good tip for cooking - get a children's cook book! It will be simpler steps, simpler ingredients and more pictures! And it will do the basics of cooking and simple meals.
When you said you had too much makeup on I was simultaneously thinking “her makeup looks gorgeous!” Just wondering which blush you use? I too am pale and I feel like I’m always running away from clownish blush.
Thank you for the reminder of “Do Not Disturb” on my phone! I had totally forgotten about that and have been feeling so overwhelmed by people messaging me recently. I have also finally created a WhatsApp Business account, so I can send automated replies when I’m busy or unavailable! (Customers will messsge me at 10:30pm sometimes and it really stresses me out because I’m the kind of person that needs to respond straight away! 🤦🏻♀️ Another lovely vlog, thank you for sharing your life with us xxx
May seem simple but I’ve started putting in “send gift/card for __ birthday” in my calendar a week before someone’s birthday as I often find it’s too late if I just leave the reminder for on the day of their birthday :)
Remembering people's birthdays is easy. Just put the date in the birthday bit of the contact details of each of your friends and then you'll get a reminder. That's what I do on my Samsung, I'm sure I-phones have this facility too.
I'm a super bad cook so one of my goals is to learn to just make some easy yummy meals this year by myself. What I tested last week was the Turkish Instagram Pasta by Anna Paul. it's super easy and was soo good. highly recommend you test it out. hope you have a magical sparkly 2025 ✨
On the topic of personal style, I can I recommend ONE channel only for advice content and that is Hannah Louise Poston. She is basically a fashion philosopher and her videos are mindblowing
Never related more to the crazy cat lady segment. More plz. My old girl Daisy May is 15 🥺 and I don’t know how we got to this ripe old age….her AND I 😅
We had Katkin for our cat which she loved but unfortunately, because she was old we had to stop as the vet said it was too high in protein and her kidneys couldn't cope with it.
If anyone else is looking to find their personal style, I highly recommend Hannah Louise Poston’s channel. She has some video’s on personal style that really help you reflect in both an aesthetic and practical sense. She’s really helped me make clothing choices that make me feel confident and more like myself.
To be fair, the cat food was by far the most interesting part of the vlog. It's interesting what some people think others will find boring - they're more often than not wrong.
I read Eliza Clark’s collection last week. 😳🤯🫠 is my review. Lol. Loved the goals. Got some inspiration and ideas. Content planning and content second guessing I totally felt. Friends birthdays is also a big one for me, my intentions and my deliverables don’t align 😂 need to change it.
Could not agree with this more :)
I’m so here for the cat food chat - I spend SO much of my life thinking about my cats’ food and toilet habits 😂
Just going to engage with this comment so Lucy knows we’re all up for the cat food content 😂
I have found my people
So sorry to hear your little friend is poorly. It’s the worst feeling when they’re ill. Thinking of you and sending lots of cat love xx

Laughing at your Nosferatu review. I found it very camp and funny - especially the handlebar moustache lol.

I wasn't going to do Resolutions....but you inspired me to write down some strategies to make my life "better." Not perfect, just better! Thanks and have a great 2025!
Did the top of that cat food box say that Flo runs the world, LOL! Beyond the cat food, sounds like 2025 is lining up to be an exciting year!
Lucy we missed you! Where are your bathroom walls tiles from please? I just know!!!! ❤😂
Feed two birds with one scone is a good alternative!
That's great! 😂 I'm going to use it! It actually sounds so cute 😂
Theme for the year “NO SHAME”❤❤❤
A good tip for cooking - get a children's cook book! It will be simpler steps, simpler ingredients and more pictures!
And it will do the basics of cooking and simple meals.
I actually love this idea! Probably very realistic for my abilities 😂
Lovely video as always!! Can I ask where your dressing table is from? X
When you said you had too much makeup on I was simultaneously thinking “her makeup looks gorgeous!” Just wondering which blush you use? I too am pale and I feel like I’m always running away from clownish blush.
Nooooo I loved that peplum top on you
I actually liked it more when I watched this back 😂
Yay! A new video 🎉 what face cleanser did you use?
I used the Sarah Chapman one but I swear it’s making me break out so I wish I’d bought something cheaper instead 😂
@@LucyJaneWoodoh no! Giving me food for thought 😂
The peplum top looks so good on you (shape) but I'd go for something darker 😍
Oh thanks! Maybe I need to investigate it in a different colour...
For what it's worth. I say you keep all 3 tops and the brown skirt. They are very you
May seem simple but I’ve started putting in “send gift/card for __ birthday” in my calendar a week before someone’s birthday as I often find it’s too late if I just leave the reminder for on the day of their birthday :)
This is exactly my plan! Trying to get ahead of the game 😂
Matching goals! Love that. Keep me updated with any good ones you master 😊
On the topic of personal style, I can I recommend ONE channel only for advice content and that is Hannah Louise Poston. She is basically a fashion philosopher and her videos are mindblowing
Where’s your mousemat from please? Is it Gilmore girls?
Hi Lucy, did you see Savidgereads BookTube gave Rewitched a shoutout on his vlog yesterday
. 💪
Never related more to the crazy cat lady segment. More plz. My old girl Daisy May is 15 🥺 and I don’t know how we got to this ripe old age….her AND I 😅
We're really their pets at this point
One of my goals is remembering to drink water. Adhd is a pain in the arse 😂
Always one of mine too! And I wonder why my head is constantly banging 😂
@LucyJaneWood literally 😂 coffee is always on hand but water is not 🙈
We had Katkin for our cat which she loved but unfortunately, because she was old we had to stop as the vet said it was too high in protein and her kidneys couldn't cope with it.
If anyone else is looking to find their personal style, I highly recommend Hannah Louise Poston’s channel. She has some video’s on personal style that really help you reflect in both an aesthetic and practical sense. She’s really helped me make clothing choices that make me feel confident and more like myself.
Yes, give me all the catfood content
Feeding two birds with one scone 🐦
Sorry can we talk about how LUSH your hair is looking!!!! Unreal
Oh thanks!! Trying to get it up to scratch for the wedding now so I appreciate this 🥰
🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
Jack Edwards said much the same about being online. Just be the Lucy❤❤❤ The meanies need to get out of here.
To be fair, the cat food was by far the most interesting part of the vlog. It's interesting what some people think others will find boring - they're more often than not wrong.
I don’t know whether or not to be offended by this comment
I read Eliza Clark’s collection last week. 😳🤯🫠 is my review. Lol. Loved the goals. Got some inspiration and ideas. Content planning and content second guessing I totally felt. Friends birthdays is also a big one for me, my intentions and my deliverables don’t align 😂 need to change it.
