- Heartwarming surprise for my dad. My parents live in Germany and normally visit us in the States during Spring and Fall. Due to health issues, my dad isn't able to fly. He tells me all the time how much he misses his grandson. How great it was surprising him! My mom was in on it the whole time.
Granddads laugh puts me at ease. He has a really great laugh.

jayblueridgesumilhig I was thinking the same thing. Some people don't have the privilege of having this. I know how most people will feel because I never got to meet my granddad. He was shot during the Vietcong War, right beside my dad (he to was shot, but survived) as they fled. If anything, his comment and other comments like this was out of ignorance and they didn't know.

I never got to meet either of my grandfathers, as they died before I was born. I simply cannot wait to take my kids home to meet my dad. It'll be tough to keep a dry eye on that day. :')
My mum never got to meet her grandparents either I don't think :/ I'm so glad I did both of my grandparents (mum & dad's side)have been together for 60+ years its amazing :)
We were getting ready to bring my maternal grandmother to visit us, but she passed away in 2014 after the procedure was finalized. We had a strong loving relationship with her all our lives.
My maternal grandfather (who’s my grandma’s ex), passed away this year. We were glad we got a chance to see him last year before this happened. All we have left is our grandpa’s second wife to interact with. She’s such a sweet and wonderful lady Indeed 🥰
I am doing this to my dad for Christmas my mom passed away a yr ago and I haven't been home for like 5 yrs so I think its time I go see my dad!! I cant wait... I have always been daddy's little girl.. I cant wait to see his face when I walk through that door!!

isaac ramire your right.. but I do talk to my dad everyday on the phone but I think the biggest reason I haven't visited yet is because I don't want to face the reality that my mom wont be there!! hope that makes sense

After 9 whole years, I got to see my only living grandfather again since we're living in different continents. I never thought he could recognize me so my expectations weren't high. As soon as he opened the door of the bathroom, he screamed my name! I was so happy that he recognized me after all these years. 2 months later, he died but I'm glad I managed to see him before he died. I also got to take pictures of us. RIP grand dad:)
