I was born in 87. I was 9 years old when the yanks won that first series title in 96. Saw nothing but the playoffs, year after year for a majority of my teen years into my adult life. Seen good contrasts. Seen bad ones. The reality is, outside of Cano and Judge, not a whole lot of homegrown talent. No pitching from within. I have never (even some of the 2010’s teams were trash) seen a team so poorly put together and so completely apathetic. I wasn’t surprised at all when the one player went on that podcast and said the Yankees system doesn’t teach fundamental baseball. It’s a joke. The most storied franchise in the history of professional sports, reduced to the laughing stock of the sports world. What a fall from Grace which seems like it’s only getting worse.

If there is one thing I've learned in 45+ years of watching sports, it's this: There are good, strong, well-run organizations, and there are badly run ones. The former are successful over the long run, consistently in contention, make good player personnel decisions, have good coaching that develops talent and provide a professional environment, with leadership from the top down. The Yankees might have been in that category in the past, but they don't seem to be nowadays.

My earliest memory of baseball was 1966 and the Orioles 4 game sweep of the Dodgers… A memory I’d love to forget is 1969’s “Amazin’ Mets…. Imo, Hal decided he was going to monetize the 20 year Jeter dynasty rather than build a WS winning franchise. That was proven at the trade deadline. He's doing what his Dad did in the 1980s. He needs a Stick Michael equivalent to bail him out.

He is NOT doing what his Dad did in the 80s. George kept getting in his own way in the 80s, Hal is too passive. They're very different but neither of them are great at building greatness. I remember growing up in the 1980s, and I would hear stories about the great Yankees teams of the past... And would root so hard for them, because I wanted my guy Donnie baseball to win a A World series... And then 1994 happened... We had the best record in the AL east..and MLB went on strike!!! Omg!!! Then 1995 happened and we made the playoffs!! And the stadium was absolutely electric... I have seen nothing like it so far in that moment in my life.. We go up 2-0 against Seattle.. And Seattle wins 3 straight.... And we lost.....and then, 1996!!! From that season on, the whole franchise changed... We made it to the world series and we WON!!. and it was AMAZING!! We lose in 97. And we win 3 straight in 98,99, 2000.... and really since 96, they became a playoff every year team.... But, not a powerhouse like those 90s team's.... And I remember it was 1999, and my father said to me, take this in. Because what this team is doing now, you will never see again in your lifetime... They may win here and there, but a Dynasty is rare and difficult... You need mix of good free agents, and a core 4,5,6 players from your farm system.... And ever since 2001, we have been making the playoffs, and we won in 2009, but we were no near the 90s Dynasty... I understand now what my father meant.... When in a Dynasty, you think its never gonna end... But once our core 4,5 retired and went away, this team has been different... Those90s team were so good.. They always played big, in big games... They got a clutch start from a pitcher when they needed... They always scored with 2 outs and RISP... Those 90s teams had chemistry... Something special..... We need to change what we are doing...we NEED to rebuild.... Develop a core...

The people in Denver were so happy to have an MLB team, me included, but they didn't care about winning. Just sit in the Denver sun eating expensive but not very good food. The owners took note, and they sell off really great players, like DJ, after their best years are behind them. Might have one or two years left and they use teams like the Yankees to bail them out. The Rockies are to be monetized. That's it. Coors Field packed every game. I don't know what to say. It's really difficult to not go out and see your team but I live 200 miles from Denver now. Mariners fan here! As much as I enjoy watching the Yankees spiral into irrelevance (and boy, do I enjoy it!), this current lineup is giving me ugly flashbacks of M's lineups from the early 2010's; waaaaay too many 1B/DH types, too much swinging for the fences to be sustainable. Best of luck fixing this; could take more than one off-season...

These Yanks have been choking since Girardi got fired. I think that still resonates with Judge. Boone is no mentor, he's a guy who made the worst decision as a player and wound up out of the majors. Cashman paid his contract, which was nothing more than welfare because he decided to play a pickup basketball game and broke his leg and that violated a very specific clause in his contract. If the Boss wasn't sick Brian would not have been allowed to do that. But someone who makes bad life decisions should never have been given the helm of a team that is meant to win. There is young talent here that needs a veteran champion to mentor them, and they simply do not have it. Moreover, we've had better teams that would have performed better if they had true leadership and mentoring in that dugout, but they fizzled out under the leadership of current management. That falls on the GM, so you now need to clean house in the front office and dugout. There's no other way because you've already exhausted every option with the current team of management. They've had the resources, the GM has had the autonomy to make deals, and while everything there is a consensus, the GM is still responsible for saving you from yourself if nothing else. So even if I defend Cashman for not making all these bad decisions himself, he's still responsible for the culture of management, and player development.

I beg your pardon, but my suggestion was based on three aspects: 1) Unfortunately, Hal is not going anywhere, he might buy the suggestion because of Jeter's notoriety; 2) Jeter has experience running a ballclub; 3) Something dramatic needs to happen, most of the front office staff have been there for decades, they have created a dysfunctional environment... Clorox needs to be applied to remove all of the waste.
