- In 2020, the Menuhin Competition was getting ready to arrive in RVA. When the COVID-19 pandemic erupted around the world, organizers knew something would have to change. What happened next is the subject of @VPM's new production, Making Menuhin: A Documentary. Directed by Paul Roberts, the program follows the unprecedented decision to postpone the Menuhin Competition for a year, only to hold it virtually in 2021 - and how this decision and the continuing pandemic affected the participating young violinists around the world. Featuring exclusive interviews and performance footage from the four Senior prizewinners, Making Menuhin: A Documentary will be released on Facebook and RUclips on Friday Dec 3rd at 1pm EST / 6pm GMT, and aired on VPM PBS at 9pm EST.

I wish you would have included the junior division winner. She was also fantastic.
Yep! Keila was amazing! I wish they gave her and the junior finalists a chance to tell the story of their journey as well :)
Yuy
Keila is such a strong musician and her maturity is uncommon for her age. Her Kreisler is a gem!
One thing I’ve clearly noticed, Maria and the Aussie junior winner in 2018 Christian, have a very similar, rare, visual style of playing.
They resonate very strong and emotional type of violin playing, it’s like watching Ballet on a violin. Not only can you hear their emotion, you can also see it clearly as well,
Just breathtaking 👏💯
One of the reason Maria is a rising star not only her amazing skill, but also her pretty
Anything with Dueñas, I'm in.

TwoSet made me watch!
theyre all so shy but play like giants :)
Yes, Maria is amazing
22:04 thanks to TwoSet haha. That´s why I´m here in first place xD
Thank you for this documentary! I came along from the 2018 Menuhin Competition and, i don't know it is possible, but i forget about the pandemic, unbelievable, i was in so much joy after the two hours, hoping to be able to watch the 2020 Competition also online, but found this video instead! Yes, postponed, so many concerts and competitions are postponed in these years, how could i forget...
I think is was a great decision to do it with videos, better then nothing!
After watching all this, i have a lot more musicians and artists to follow and i am very thankful about that.
I can't imagine a world without music and i don't want to imagine. Music is my life, if modern or classic, without music life would be very sad for me!!! Btw, i missed the junior contestants in this video a lot, but glad to have internet, i will searching for them, i am excited how they performed!
This was a fantastic video explaining your competition. I saved it to my channel for others, that way they can learn who you are and prepare for the next round, if they play (or know someone). I had a chance to listen to most 2022 submissions and each is spectacular! On behalf of everyone worldwide, these opportunities are appreciated. PR staff: Because of the remote competition style, I finally found your group and thankful I did (and I'm in the U.S).
Please come to Italy!!!
A título personal les doy las gracias por estimular la nueva generación de músicos
ooh this insight into the entire competition would be interesting! can’t wait to know more about the minute details behind the amazing performances!

So, what is RVA? Is it one of the five choices below? (Courtesy of Wikipedia.)
Clarity and transparency are always appreciated! (Especially when they are lacking.)
1. Régie des Voies Aériennes de la République Démocratique du Congo
2. Richmond, Virginia
3. RVA Magazine, an art, music and opinion magazine for Richmond, VA
4. Relative Virtual Address, a concept in the COFF format
5. Rift Valley Academy, a boarding school outside of Nairobi, Kenya
