Both are awesome Utility vehicles. They are actually products to be very proud off as an Indian. Providing world class safety, features and looks. Maybe the performance or Fit and Finish might not be able to match up with roboticly manufactured German cars that have super narrow tolerances for errors but Indian Industry catching upto this level is phenomenal. Within a decade we might surpass or breakeven the manufacturing quality of german cars without increasing too much of complexities. Also, local manufacturers need to enhance the aftersale services, since this has a huge potential in continuously making the customer feel bad for choosing thw product and associating oneself with the company. We also need to stop this racist behavior of believing that Jeep, or VAG are better or high class (this includes Toyota too) and support our local manufacturers.

For those who all are confused between the Safari and the XUV7OO,
if you want a more feature rich, more spacious and more vfm package-go for safari
but if you want performance, AWD and somewhat better after sale service😅-go for XUV7OO
Both are worse in after sales

XUV 700 is still ahead in the SUV game. Safari may offer more features, but Mahindra makes better engines compared to Tata. Lack of a good petrol engine is another area Tata lags behind. For now,looks like XUV 700 is still VFM. If only Tata could improve their after sales service, improve quality control and make better Engines.
The diesel is a Fiat made engine. New TGDI engine is on its way

I have been driving XUV 700 petrol, in Bangalore traffic you get around 10 - 11 and on highways, you can easily get 14 - 15. You can easily cruise at 100 kmph below 2k rpm. The efficiency number quoted in this video is for spirited driving, for normal driving, this car gives good mileage ! :)
At 4:00, the logic behind placing the recliner for the third row is positioned at the back of the seat, considering the available boot space. You can adjust the recliner from behind based on the items stored in the boot.
What about second row?

However, if the person in the second row adjusts the recliner, it might impact the person in the third row. I'm not sure if this is correct, but from my point of view, it could be a potential reason.

Mileage in city and highway ? 4. Chance of getting DPF clog issue if car is maintained properly for every 10000 kms and drive entirely in city ?
If they provide the basic features like the ORVM and all and come up with a mild hybrid for better fuel efficiency, it will be unbeatable.....
You missed the air conditioning part when keeping the unlock button pressed on the remote key. With the driver window and sunroof opening, the air vents also start working which could be helpful in summer to eliminate heat.

I don’t understand when you say top end of the jeep compass is cheaper than the top end of XUV700. That is wrong. Jeep compass top end in Bengaluru is 40.96 lakhs while the top end of XUV700 AWD is 34 lakhs. The XUV700 is a value for money and cheaper compared to the compass. Please fact check the prices.
The screen shutting at random is a major issue but it doesn't bother that much now and the mileage is worst in XUV petrol version but the performance and driving experience is still superb.

I drove the Diesel and it was just amazing in XUV700. Didn't drove the petrol but yes fuel efficiency is definitely poor due to which no one wants petrol SUVs

@@FasBeam They're offering benefits upto 1.65 lacs on the Compass. Still it won't be cheaper than the XUV. The price would still go North of 35 lacs by adding the RTO and Insurance. XUV would be like 3-4 lacs cheaper than the Compass.
XUV is more driver centric, but safari is more passenger centric and also a bit driver centric

Which gives a mileage 12-13 in highway and 10 in city
I have diseal automatic and getting mileage 12 on city and 14-15 on highway.
Getting 14.5 kmpl with 4 passengers and both rear front AC running everytime, all roads --> Clearly Faisal hasn't tested FE

The mileage is the biggest issues as hardly it gives even a standard average of 15 kmpl instead of gives a disappointing 8 to 9 kmpl😢

These stuff like memory mirrors were there in my Rexton itself. I don’t know why Mahindra added now as some big deal. Also my Rexton has heated windshield which no Mahindra car has. Faisal, I can let you review my Rexton RX6 model. It’s got torque on demand 4WD system, ladder on frame chassis with Mercedes sourced 2.7 L 5 cylinder engine. It’s got a beastly road presence. But you must treat my beast nicely. No heavy foot or rough use 😀. If interested let me know when you come to Bangalore
It’s not “ladder on frame” (that phrase does not make sense anyway). It is either known as “body on frame” or “ladder frame” construction - opposite of monocoque or unibody construction.
