I bought this same unit and I have run 15 loads so far, and we love it. Only thig I changed was the amount of fabric softener applied to more, so our clothes weren't so wrinkled. Normal loads around 10 pounds work great (2.5 hours for wash and dry). I did one load of towels at 16 pounds and it took a long time, but cleaned and dried perfectly. We came from 4 year old LG washer and dryer (separate units), and we are happy so far.
@@BruiserFLI have a dedicated heat pump dryer in my condo. When drying, I always choose Delicate with low heat and using the sensor More Dry feature. Takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. But, you cannot let clothes sit in the dryer. Once the cycle completes, dedicate time to taking every thing out and leaving the door ajar to finish drying out the coils.
I have found that AI Wash & Dry spins a bit to fast for most dress and normal wear clothes. That faster spin causes way more wrinkles. Wash & Dry or Permanent Press seems to wash just as good without as many wrinkles. And turning on Fresh Care tumbles them periodically after they finish drying until you pull them out. Seems to have helped with wrinkles, even after turning fabric softener back down to Normal..
@@0thundr0You should be able to regulate the spin speed. Most of what I wash is spun at the maximum, while dedicates are spun at 1200rpm. If you are consistently getting wrinkles, you might want to throw a few white wash cloths in with the load. It will retain moisture that will steam/release during the dry cycle.
Heat pumps kinda work the same as condenser units except it’s got a refrigeration unit inside instead of the normal metal condenser unit, and they use half the power of normal machines, these machines are only really designed to do a half load to wash and dry straight through, fill the drum right up and there’s no space for the clothes to tumble on the drying part, this is why dryer drums are always so much bigger than washing machine drums, best thing to do is not mix large items together with clothes, do towels separately so the machine can calculate properly how much time it will take to dry, same with bedding , even though you should never mix towels and bedding with clothes as these need a higher water temperature to clean them
The fact that the GE version has a bigger heat pump system and a five year warranty on the heat pump system vs LG's one year makes the GE a much better choice in my opinion. Don't get me wrong. I'm glad LG introduced this machine because competition is never a bad thing. But having only a one year warranty on a washer and dryer combo with so many things that can possibly fail is a really bad thing.
I keep seeing this claim that the GE has a "larger" heat pump than the LG. While that might be true in terms of physical size, according to the specifications of each compressor part, the LG (EAR072MA) is actually more powerful in terms of BTU / hr (3700) and also has a higher COP (see www.lg.com/global/business/download/resources/CT00000308/LG_Catalogue_Rotary%20Compressor[20211026_124235].pdf). The compressor in the GE is a Highly BSA804SD rated at 3280 BTU / hr according to www.joap.dk/download_file/force/284/318. The fin spacing on the LG coil also seems to be denser, potentially indicating higher efficiency.
Hey, Mourat! Congrats on the new machine. That was quite the commitment to bring it across the border. If you get a chance, I'd love to see a recording of the empty tub running on the following cycle: Towels + Turbo Wash 360 + Extra Rinse (+3) I've been told this combo will yield the most water, but haven't seen a recording of the water levels it yields. Empty tub is ideal, but a small load with a bit of detergent also works. And if there's a tub light to turn on, please do!
I just did my first run with the LG and had the same concern about the lint on the rim. I wonder if adding a dryer sheet during the dry cycle will prevent this.
Dog hair is an issue, is there a way around this, it has clogged twice, and we are diligent with cleaning the lint trap, front door area, each load. the bottom trapper we do every 2-3 loads. It is stressful to wash now, is there a way to fix this issue.
Nice video, thank you for sharing. Same position as you, interested in GE but price went up and this is cheaper for now. You're the second I've seen mention lint in the door seal, I assume it's from the heat pump vent being piped into that area. Have you seen anything on reprogramming the unit to use the softener dispenser as a second detergent option? Don't plan on using softener and believe GE has that functionality, hopefully LG will let us as well Congratulations on the new unit, you put in the work to get it 🏆 Cheers from the Midwest
I know it realizes when there is no softener, and mentions it at the very beginning. It was really cool, I set it to wash a full load last night, filled with clothes and took about 4 hours while I slept. I woke up to fully done laundry. Very nice!
There’s a newly released Samsung Bespoke AI Washer/Dryer All-In-One 5.3cu ft that’s also on sale, if you’re still looking for something. I’m hoping that either the LG or Samsung will work for us. Gotta get really precise measurements of both.

Funny you say that I just had to return my new one because it would keep extending the drying time until it extended it for an hour than it would finish. Hi! Is there any chance someone who has this unit could do a really careful measurement of the side-to-side width? It says 27” but I’m really close on space, and even the smallest amount over or under 27” would make a difference for us. I’ve not found one near me or I’d measure it myself on a display. I just measured my unit and it's pretty true to 27". I measured a few times across different points. A couple of times it was over or under by about 1/16" but I think that was more due the tape measure being slightly angled instead of perfectly square. For what it's worth, I have a very tight fit as well and was able to get it in, but you'll need at least a little bit of wiggle room.
