Nice work, I always wondered whether the old and new taillights were compatible or not. I now see that they are electrically compatible and easily fittable. If you need help with some of your tasks with this car, I have touched a lot of parts of it.
I did same things, all good but my rear running lights (bottom) are disabled both sides and they light up on the top one, stop lights an running lights they light up only on the top point and bottom are disabled. Maybe something with electronic part, plugs etc, any help?
@vintagesteelgarage Yes I bought the facelift bulb holder from store with used parts and bulbs was already on the holder so I thought was correct. Thank you, I will check it! But I read somewhere on net phorums that, cause the old car plug for back lights has differences with the new plug cause light place differences. I don't know... I will check it to store with electricians and we'll see.
Hi, I have a CLK200 coupe with a missing 3rd brake light (spoiler light), are you able to do a video on how i replace this? I have the broken part (if it is actually broken i dont know) but it just doesn’t sit on the hole when I push it in from the inside of the boot
By the way, a nice test you can do to the car is testing the MAF and performance of the car. As you have an Android unit as mine, purchase a cheap OBD2 ELM327 wifi interface and install Torque. With that, you can easily measure MAF g/s readings and check if it gets maximum performance. I did that and pushing it in 3rd to redline you should read around 245g/s. Lower than that and you MAF is dodgy or you have some other issue in the engine.
hey i have a CLk w209 Mercedes in i am going to change my own rear tail lights as well save money! thanks 👍👍

Thanks I will bare that in mind.
where can I find the bulb holder plate for that new light? Do you have the PN? Thanks
Sorry I don't have the part number. Try looking on ebay for someone breaking one.
Did you disconnect the battery before starting? Btw what was that gold car in your garage?
No need just unclip connector and remove lights same as changing a blown lamp. Hold car is a 1971 6 litre dodge dart.

Sounds likes bulbs are in wrong or plug wrong way round. There is nothing to configure on the ecu etc. Did you use the newer blub holder as well?
