  • This study looked at how taking an NAD+ booster supplement called nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN), which is involved in energy metabolism, impacts aging and inflammation by specifically in the kidneys. Mice were given either MNM, a peptide called Elamipretide or both for 8 weeks. Elamipretide is not a supplement. Both compounds are touted to improve mitochondria dysfunction. Do they work better together to improve kidney health?

Do you know the title of that study so I can read it?

That seems like a ridiculous amount of NMN to take. I was taking 500mg 4x week. Now dropping to 250mg 4x week - been having heart rate issues at high intensity cardio- not sure this is due to NMN or Creatine - which I have cut back now and weeding off. I’ve been taking NMN fairly consis for 4-5 years, so I’m leaning more towards the creatine possibly being the culprit.

@@jennifermcrayde3294 Jennifer, I agree it is a lot of NMN for what its worth, I dont recall seeing studies showing creatine causes heart rate issues. Even so Im sure this is pretty disconcerting (we take our hearts for granted). Several years ago when I experimented with tribulus, and got off of it, I experienced my heart skipping beats, which the doc thought was a "withdraw symptom." Consider seeing your doc for more insights.

You have very good skin for an older man. If you got a hair transplant and dyed it, you’d look 15 years younger.

The dose they used in the experiment is equvalent to a human dose of 2500 mg of NMN.

      That sounds closer to it.
