This cylinder head was rebuilt and it turned out very nice. A new MB piston with rings were installed and we did a light cylinder hone. The bearings looked great and were left alone and i would say overall this repair turned out very nice and I think the customer was very happy with the result.

As a aircraft mechanic I always cover the holes or have plastic cap inserts in the head until the plugs are clean and inspection is done. Heard of some really bad and expensive stories.
    Good video as always👍🏻

Perfect time to do a 5.0 ltr MB V8 engine. Huge upgrade, and the only hope to realize an ROI on this car. Can you tell me what the engine side covers are for on the manifold side. If the large ones are leaking a little, is it a water or oil leak. Great video, I learn something everytime I watch one like this. I have two 280CE’s, love the cars, just wish I knew more about the engines. Great advice regarding the plugs, I am about to change them on one of the cars. I will vacumn out the holes really well before I remove the plugs.

Great video. What havoc this screw did to the engine block! I'm curious to know how you disassembled the camshaft chain. I will accompany the assembly, because I have an M110 that needs repairs in the valves. Thanks!

The timing chain is still there and in one piece. If you need to do anything to remove the camshafts/camshaft housing you will need to remove the rocker arms and this means you have to be able to compress the valve springs. You will need to purchase(good luck finding) a compressor or make one. Once the exhaust camshaft sprocket is loose by removing the front bolt, you will slide the camshaft to the rear to remove the chain/sprocket. Hope this helps

@@bicylindrico It's good to know I'll preserve the current. I've taken it out a few times with a tool I use on GMs. Thank you very much!
