    One of the nicest sounding Benz , great to hear it again . Been too long! I want to build an engine similar to yours . I rebuilt an m113 last year so I’m familiar with the platform. Sure would be nice to have some custom headers & maybe dual or even quadruple carbs if even possible . Just for looks mostly . Regardless your build is just jaw dropping

      @bicylindrico mine are in a rough shape and it was HELL of a work to get the gaskets to seal. Not even the original MB gasket sealed up, I had to carefully add RTV (if you add too much it will leak again).

      It seems you haven't paid attention to all of my videos. This engine never had the AMERICAN supercharger on it like the kompressor engines as it's just a standard 5.0 liter M113. I am sure the next build with a real supercharger from Detroit will really have your panties in a bunch. It will also include 2 of those dirty little carbs so stay tuned.

    Perfect time to do a 5.0 ltr MB V8 engine. Huge upgrade, and the only hope to realize an ROI on this car. Can you tell me what the engine side covers are for on the manifold side. If the large ones are leaking a little, is it a water or oil leak. Great video, I learn something everytime I watch one like this. I have two 280CE’s, love the cars, just wish I knew more about the engines. Great advice regarding the plugs, I am about to change them on one of the cars. I will vacumn out the holes really well before I remove the plugs.

    Thanks for this helpful video but I have a question how did you boroscope this sprocket with the timing chain in position I tried to do it and i couldn't where exactly did you insert the boroscope in order to see this sprocket

      My scope is only about 3/16" wide. I could see the plastic wedged into the sprocket just before the chained rolled over it so I was on top of the chain. I don't recall where exactly I snuck it in.

      @@EliasVillarta I use the crank bolt though it's not easy to get to. I used wood between the camshaft sprockets and the cylinder head, just to hold the camshafts from wanting to kick back from the valve springs

      Honestly the stock valve bodies are firm enough on 722.6's. People only change them instead of tcu tune.

      Everything has a price. I could reproduce them but didn't think there was much of a market for them. But imagine, stack injection, roots blower, weber carbs, tunnel ram! All possible with these adapters

      These are Cat Cams but even standard AMG cams from a 55 will swap right into a standard M113

    Excellent work and perfect choice of engine swap (keeping it in the Merc family). Have you checked out my mate Brent's M113 engine swap into his 1987 560SEC. He runs a Weistec s/charger which is available in a complete kit for M113. Also like you he runs the 722.6 with its own PCM. He has a 3,500 high stall converter swapped in. Brent's coupe runs like a dream now and he would be open to any questions you might want to bounce off him.     Wow man it’s been a year already, totally forgot about this project, first of all can I just say that damn M113 sounds insane, can’t believe it’s a Mercedes, once you and Florida Torque Converter figure out the right stall I hope you partner up with them to market this! That said another great option would be a ZF 8HP, that transmission is next level I’m just not sure which one would be best for the M113, I know adapters are available for the BMW version but it would be even better if one can be made for the Dodge versions as literally millions of them are out there for the America market.

      Yeah, she's been an on going project for sure. Thank you for the compliments and tes, fingers crossed on this next converter but if she's over 3k, then I am happy. The 722.6 is plenty robust enough and this one is entirely stock. I have a 722.649 out of a TT V12 if i ever needed one but I don't see this car ever getting even close.

    did u powder coat your valve covers? is it sticking to the magnesium?

      I hand sanded and scratched up with like 600 grit, epoxy primed and shot with VHT engine enamel. Then cleared with Spraymax 2k brilliant clear. This was a few years back and you see them now. Prep is everything

      @@narcissistinjurygiver2932 That's where the epoxy primer comes in. It's a 2 part epoxy that is sprayed and cured on the surface sealing the magnesium from the possibility of oxidation. Spraymax also sells a 2 part epoxy primer in a spray can though I use a spray gun and mix myself. Using the chemically hardened epoxy primer and then the chemically hardened clear-coat, you are getting a very stable coating over the magnesium. I hope this helps.

    Always good to see an update from you! Car is looking great, it really is hard to get traction in first gear it looks like! My v8 and diesel 722.6 cars always brake the tires loose in first too, just not enough traction for that torque! Best of luck with the new converter.

      Actually the low end torque from this engine is fairly weak compared to the upper RPM power hit around 4k. You can almost hear these cams come on power in the videos once the revs come up. Also this is a single plane intake manifold and I already have a dual plane intake ready for a video coming up soon.

      Where are you located. That looks really similar to our area of middle TN. I have done a 5.0 swap in a c230 coupe. Also did you try Southern hotrod in New Orleans area? They do a lot for ours and the Dodge version of the transmission. Also I think June blood has some custom torque converters.

    I have a 92 300e 4matic... I know, those are more complicated cause of the front end. BUT Is an engine swap like this at all possible? I'd assume I'd have to convert the front end out of 4matic, which would require god knows what, part swaps, possible changes to get everything placed properly... I've tried to look around to see if anyone has done it but no real luck. But would it be as "simple" as it sounds? Just redo the front end and then do an engine swap (I'm thinking an LS or 2JZ) Any help is appreciated, thank you. (I also kinda wanna keep it full stock but scared if something breaks I won't be able to find parts to replace, my transfer case/4matic still works... for now)

    What really size rear tyre? In description 275/40 in coment 255/50 I’m planning 10j rear wheel with 14mm offset but i will use much smaller tyre 215/45 maybe 225/45!

      The 275's ended up rubbing so dropped down to the 255 and it's a perfect fit

    Type of thing I love to see I actually own a Mercury Grand Marquis 4.6 2v and a Mercedes e500 m113 and I often wonder how much of a difference would the dual spark make on a 4.6 🤣

      no, it allows easy customization unattainable with an ecm controlled fuel injection setup

      @@masonpeterg well programmed ecu is self adjusting and allows for different setups with a touch of a button. I know that for carb guys, ecu is rocket science and all the wires are means of disaster, but it's not that scary.

      I can fix my fuel system with a rock on the side of the road. A stuck float is the most likely issue ever with a Holley carb

      Sadly its a cheap set of ebay manifolds. I have a set of long tubes to modify next winter
