Which was my point. All it will take to destroy the league for everyone even those not involved in these aggressive attacks will see their careers ended if in anyway Caitlin were to end up injured in such a way that her career was to come to an end…all it would take is a fall at the wrong angle, a hit to her knee in a specific way, etc…look at what happened with Angel and how she was clotheslined and how she herself almost could have broke her own neck with the way she hit the court…that’s what I’m talking about because it’s not just attacks on CC but on the other rookies as well that are getting attention but the majority of the attacks so far in these games have been on CC since they haven’t been called out as fouls and allowed to continue. It wouldn’t be just the player that caused such an injury that would get the negative blowback but also that players team and the WNBA league as a whole. Sam, I'm disappointed that you kept a smile on your face and were chuckling when you all but said that they can do anything... "as long as Caitlin doesn't get hurt. That's just basketball".
You are wrong, my friend. If all the coaches, refs, commissioner and NBA do not address this quickly, you will see a boycott of epic proportions against the WNBA, NBA and the major Brands that will become Much larger than the initial increase in revenue.
Caitlin Clark was embraced by an entire nation for her abilities, her heart for children, her classy emphasis about her teammates, and her professional approach to the competition. It wasn't because she was white. It wasn't because she told us constantly how much she deserved every time she spoke. It wasn't because she "had a cause to push" or a chip on her shoulder. Or how big a Thug she could be to impress us.
It was because she was "all in" from a young age to become the best at women's basketball and be an example for the next generation. Based on ALL the records she broke, the awards she was given, and everything I've seen over the last two years...how she has handled the spotlight, the pressure and disappointments, and what I've seen of the other so called champions for the sport, she is Waaayyy out in front.
I think Budweiser lost 10 billion, right? Didn't Disney lose 170 billion and is still sliding. There are many examples where corporations have the mistaken belief they can push whatever they want onto the public and it doesn't cost them. That they can shake their fist at consumers and say FU....just spend your money and shut up. And they still haven't learned their lesson.
If I was on the Boards of Nike, Wilson, Gatorade, State Farm and others, I would be having some serious conversations telling the managements to get this under control. Nobody likes a rigged game.
The public is not stupid. They see this "targeting". We also see the coaches and refs turning a blind eye to the blatant lopsided officiating. We see the silence from corporate that is disgusting.
I only have one question: Does the WNBA/NBA run things or is it the hateful women basketball players and coaches?

On one end of the Clark fandom, they’re saying Clark is making it better for everyone. They should be honored by her presence.
….and then on the other end of the fandom, there’s comments like yours, saying that Nike was right to not give anyone a shoe deal, except for Caitlin of course.
It’s a league where everyone has to earn their place, with no princess treatment. No special privileges. Any expectations of such treatment, will be met with resistance..

With all due respect, there is no place for trash talk. If you were to watch a basketball game from 50 years ago, athletes had more dignity, more class, and were more self-assured than they are today. Trash talk is street, ghetto talk that juveniles partake in that is puerile, inane, and infantile, and those athletes who engage in it are puerile, inane, and infantile. That is one of among many reasons that I do not watch, or care about, professional sports, and haven't for, four decades. The behavior of athletes today is stupidity personified!

We all know that they’ve all made those comments, but I know other players are going to be upset and want to get the star I mean people went after Kobe people went after Jordan, but the difference was their teammates had their back, you protect the star you protect the asset that’s who’s going to get you bigger paychecks so why don’t you have your teammates back? You shouldn’t be that jealous of your own teammate that’s gonna bring you more money just because she’s bigger. Curry became a huge star came a huge star. I mean players become huge stars and some players are just average, this is a player that it’s my skin tone. I’m gonna follow them just like Black people do with black players. I don’t see why they’re so much hate because of that like white people aren’t allowed to have somebody they enjoy even though we do watch a lot of black players and favorite black players, but we’re not allowed to love a white player because she’s the same color as us. I have a thought. I keep hearing the Fever players need to step up and defend CC. Let’s turn that around. If CC would defend her teammates, then perhaps they would step up and do the same for her. If she shows she is willing to take a risk of being ejected for her teammates, that would go a long way for her in gaining their respect

Trash "talk" doesn't mean you can get violent. Responding to words with violence is lack of self control.
