It was a Rhagium mordax, aka the black-spotted longhorn beetle. It is a species of long-horned beetle. This beetle is found throughout Europe and to Kazakhstan and Russia.
Sorry for laughing 😂😂😂😂 im not really, but that little bug is called Dave, he is one of the security guards, no doubt making sure you was was really enjoying yourself in your overnight stay. 😂😂 absolutely brilliant film, thank you for sharing 😀 I do enjoy the night sky pictures. As where you go, ismuch much darker skys, than over here east of London. Stay cool 😎 👌🏻 x
Clair, I am ex Marine Commando, ex Firefighter, and teacher. I have Pulmonary Fibrosis and can no longer camp, mountaineer, or hillwalking but I adore your videos, I feel I am with you as you enjoy your happy adventures. Thanks Derek
Hi Derek 👋 wow I bet you have many exciting tales to tell! I'm so sorry you can no longer do these things. Glad you enjoy watching me have a go at it 🤗 Best wishes to you, have a lovely week :) Claire 🐻
Giant bug net and fairy lights is a winning combination for sure! One of the many things I love about your videos is that from week to week, we never know whether we're going to be seeing you in an extreme blown off a mountain camp, or semi-luxurious relaxing woodland heaven. It's fabulous 😊. Hope you are having a brilliant week! 🪲🌿☀️
That huge bug net was an epiphany for me! Here in Maine we have fierce mosquitoes and black flies (midges to you)--and sleeping under the stars is a bit of a dream! But that net makes it feasible. It is so tall, that I'm sure you could cook inside it--even on a little wood burner! We normally need a tent with bug screens and a built in ground sheet. Tarp camping is a fantasy. Bugs don't let up until the evenings get near freezing. People do have screened gazebo tents with metal rames in their gardens. Bit heavy for camping.
I’m super in to my nature but I genuinely don’t know what I love more about Claire’s videos out of the cool places she visits or the fact that you can tell she’s a genuinely pure, humble and utterly adorable person.
I can't camp in tents without ground sheets, if a spider crawled on my face in the night, it would freak me out lol.I love your video's, you have a great personality.
Hi. In a time when the news is all so depressing it’s nice and relaxing to watch such a lovely down to earth video of a lovely person out enjoying nature.👍
I’ve only recently found this channel and I’m catching up on older vids, one thing that stands out is I love the way you greet every little animal or bug with a big hello!
Hi Marcus! Welcome to my lil channel :) hehe yep love to talk to the creatures, I like to thanks waterfalls, rivers, camping spots and forests too as I pass by, show appreciation for allowing me safe passage 💚 which some may thing is a bit mad but there you go 😄 Thanks for watching and wishing you a wonderful weekend :) Claire 🐻
Hi Claire: Loved the "bug shelter" and the lovely night sky shots! Not sure about the make and model of that bug...some kind of pre-invasion scout from a distant planet would be my guess.👍👍
Your editing is impressive. Loved the skip disappearance at the end 😂 I miss UK woods and walks, surprisingly even miss the rain! Here in Norway now dealing with lots of melting ice - sun the beaches will come alive! 🎉
That fella is the black-spotted longhorn beetle (Rhagium mordax.) hehe Harmless. Great vid as always WildBeare (Claire). Loving the smile and your voice.
Thanks for taking us all on another ace lil'adventure with you Claire-🐻 😊 Bacon fried in the woods 🌲🌳🥓😋🌴🌲 is about my favourite bloomin thing after a rib-eye (with a generous splash of bourbon to deglaze the pan and drizzle over it when it's reduced... -apparently that's how John Wayne used to have his T-Bones served 😊) and crusty bread, fried in the woods 🌲🌳🥩🥃😋🌴🌲, but we usually cook it over wood-fire coals... 🔥😁👍 Dunno what (the frik...) that critter was, 🦗😳, but he was amazing 😁 Be good, and please keep-on being you and smiling that lovely smile for us 😁👍 cos you're amazing...
Always love watching your adventures, you get up to so much fun stuff! That creature that startled you appears to be a longhorn beetle (Rhagium mordax). Also, I think you are super cute.
Thank you Mat! It does indeed, surprised I've not seen one before as they're apparently pretty common. He was a big boy! 🪲 I enjoyed his company, once the initial shock wore off 😄 Hope you have a lovely weekend :) Claire 🐻
The bug shelter is a brilliant idea Claire. Inside but still outside and no bugs biting the bejesus out of you. And wine in a can to have with your supper, what’s not to like. Oh and the bacon made me hungry, only problem with that, I’m watching this at 10pm 😂
My favourite time of the week, when you release a new video Claire. I can’t help it, but as soon as I see the notification it puts a smile on my face 😊 Whereas you jumped at seeing the bug, I’m sorry, but I’d have been out of there at 3:17 with that moth. My biggest phobia that results in me letting out high pitched screams 😱🤗
Hii aww thank you so much, I'm so glad you like my lil videos 🤗 Ahh really! I love the moths, actually I feel so sad sometimes because when I have a fire they fly into it to their deaths 😭 I don't like the BIG ones though, like the beasty ones abroad. Thanks for watching and hope you're having a lovely day! :) Claire 🌿🐻
Hello 👋 Claire, greetings from Northern California. Thank you for the tag along. Great 👍 idea with the bug net. I'm sorry that I missed your dinner and breakfast invitation. Please take good care of yourself. Stay safe and healthy out there. 🤗
Now that big net would suit me claire although I will admit I hate slugs ,the thought of them buggers slithering over me makes me want bough lol.really do enjoy your videos claire you have a soothing tone to your voices, so relaxing 😁
Hiya, Claire! "Bacon Fun--wooooo!" Hahahahahaha!!! With your little beetle friend, that was more Bacon Fun than you bargained for, huh! Hahahahaha! By the way, it looked like a variety of a Sawyer Beetle. I read that Sawyer Beetles are harmless to the environment; they rarely, if ever, attack a vigorously growing green tree. They are beneficial in fact, as they help to break down the fibers of decaying trees, which helps add nutrients back into the soil. Cool little critter! It's fun to have "guests" for breakfast. I loved your bug net home, especially with the festive lights. I was surprised how it made a 1* C difference in temperature (2* F)! Thanks for another cheerful viddy, Claire! Waves!!! :)
Great idea Claire, i don't know about you but the Midge's eat me to bit's so this is a great idea which you could use to just chill out in outside your tent especially if it's in Yorkshire as that place is Midge heaven. All the best.
I would've never guessed it would be warmer inside a bug net 😲🤔 Also made me laugh talking to big creepy spiders and then jumping so much at the mystery bug 😅
Can I just say that I nearly soiled my pantaloons when you "jumped" on seeing Mr.Phytocoris Tiliae - common name, wait for it. Mr. Bug. Weel, that's what I reckon it was. Luckily , my 'erb evening was just starting, otherwise the shock of you "jumping" may have had more severe consequences! Rock on! 8-)>>
Hi Claire, Irish Bob loves these outdoor excursions you take. Makes me so happy to see you enjoy the environment, and peace of mind.
