Very helpful, even if figma still confused the daylights out of me as I try to stack show/hide on frames. I should have watched this sooner and done the 'state' technique I think, instead I've got about 20 show hide things going on and breaking my head.
Thanks for showing us a way to quickly populate/sync the data. For some reason, fetching images doesn't work when a frame is used as a placeholder for an image. A rectangle should be used for this to work.
Do you know if the variant control ONLY works with components within the same file? For example, I tried placing a library component within my file and using the "state=" label... and it doesn't work ☹
Yes sorry they need to be on the same page, it’s like it is scanning the page for content to swap. Our org has restricted our document sharing to only within our org. Will this prevent me from using the plug-in?

Of they get fetched too much google blocks it for security reasons, try setting up your own file and you should be fine!
