If you eat grains THIS is the way to do it. So much quality and freshness when you do all that from whole fresh grains. That bread machine is incredible. If I could eat grains I would buy that in a heartbeat. Big improvement over the older ones. I did not know a grain flaker even existed! That's a beauty too. Looks very well made. It is a true blessing to have a spouse that values and equally participates in that quality of life you both enjoy. You often do the harder manly stuff and she looks like a fabulous cook -- everything from scratch. Her group of animals with the Christmas hats is so dear. I hope you don't get too much wind and snow tonight. MERRY CHRISTMAS with Love to you and yours.
We are really enjoying using the grains. I got the flaker for oatmeal but turned out it is good for many other cereals. It's very simple and my wife can easily use it. We have also started using the whole grains in soups that are awesome. Wish we had started playing with the grains years ago. That bread machine is awesome. Just takes 5 minutes to make a fresh loaf that cooks perfect everytime and is very tasty. Best air freshener ever. We just delivered about 40 of the animals to a charity and the local sheriff's office. The Sheriff's office uses them for family intervention calls that are usually quite upsetting to children present. They can't believe how they calm the young children in the situation. Now the next batch is started. She spends every spare minute working on them and children love them. looks like only 1 to 3 inches for us tonight. Going to be a real sloppy mess in the morning. Figures because its the only day we have to go out. So far it has been a great snow less winter but I think soon we will start paying for it. I need snow to cover the mess in the yard I never cleaned up. Merry Christmas . Thanks for watching.
Kind of reminds me of when I was a kid. Fresh bread direct out of the oven. We didn't have a grinder for the grains so we had to buy everything pre ground but man, that was livin'. Loved smelling the aroma coming from the kitchen. There were lots of homemade cinnamon rolls, pies, cake, cookies and donuts that came out of that kitchen as well. That's probably why I'm a well rounded man now. Merry Christmas to y'all!
I grew up on day old white bread from A&P. we didn’t have much and would drive to A&P just before they closed when they marked all the leftover bread down to 5 cents a loaf. Dad would buy everything left and fill the freezer. Also had a day old Freihofers outlet not far away. This is the best air freshner ever and just soooo good. Merry Christmas. Thanks for watching.
Thanks. We have really been enjoying using the fresh grains. The bread is amazing, we have been using the grains whole in soups, now flaking our own cereals. It is something we should have started years ago. Thanks for watching.
@@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 I'm thinking I want to get into this as well, but on the other hand the wife might disown me if I bring home one more kitchen gadget!!!
That's a gorgeous loaf of bread. That flaker is an awesome little gadget. So happy you and Mrs. URHC are enjoying the grinder(s) and bread maker. I gave up bread flour and just use 1 tsp vital wheat gluten per cup of plain or whole wheat/grain flour. Just don't get carried away and overdo it like I did. The bread goes from airy to kitchen sponge. That was one strange loaf of bread. Merry Christmas to you and your dear ones. Watching your videos and learning from you and enjoying your adventures has made my year better in many ways. May the goodness you share with us come back to you a hundredfold. Peace, love, health and prosperity to you and yours.
I decided to use the bread flour in this because it's flavorless so the flaked grain flavors would be more distinguishable. I won't tell you about the loaf that tried pushing the cover open because of a little extra vital wheat gluten. Wasn't bad toasted though 😯. I have to setup the sifter and see how close I can get to making bread flour without chemical treatment. We really are enjoying the fresh grains. Merry Christmas to you and your family. Thanks for watching.
Hi 👋, URHC , You were definitely loafing around today, 😂, Hands 🙌 to the grinding wheel, I could smell the bread 🍞 cooking from here, I put my millStones in my garden as ornaments, I had three sets in my basement, I took them out because I needed the space, Plus, there was a very large hole where the river used to run through, I think I did put a reply up in the beginning of your territorial, you have like a slapping noise like somebody slapping paper, I believe we had the same problem before a month or so ago, is it coming from your terrestrial invaders?, 😂, the bread looks very nice., a nice knob of butter with some lovely strawberry 🍓, keep up the great work. Look forward to seeing your next project., I hope you both and your family have a lovely Christmas and a prosperous New Year, Phil from the moulin/mill ,
If those stones are in good condition, they could be valuable replacements for someone rebuilding a mill. I haven't seen those things since moving the Ouija board out in the barn. My wife may have been right. So I know it's not them. We are having fun with the fresh grains. Merry Christmas. Thanks for watching.
Yes , I did have a look about 2 years ago, at secondhand price of them, I only have one full set, Another set fell apart, the metal straps, Gateway, And the other set is in half, or shall I say 2/2 of each one, and I have 2 very large gears ⚙️, on a 4” dm shaft, I will have a look next year, I could do with some extra pennies, Phil from the moulin,
Hi 👋, URHC, it is looking 👀 a great job, 👏, But that seems to be a funny noise again in the background, like slapping Piper or something, I think we had the same problem a few weeks ago , I’ll now carry on watching, 👀, Phil from the moulin.
It's the background noises of things banging around from the videos combined with a noisey fan in the PC combined with processing after software upgrades to make the files smaller so they don't take 6 hours to upload. I only really hear it in lower resolution feeds. At 4k sounds fine on my system. It's a new format that could also have bugs. I just downloaded DaVinci Resolve to try and see how hard it will be to switch. Thanks for watching.
We are too lazy and leave them in. Usually just 2 small slots left behind. Made another loaf with the 2/3 cup of grain and it's our new favorite. Thanks for watching.
I don’t see the toasted ones on their site that won't go rancid and will last 18 months. plus their closest drop isn't convenient for us. I found Pleasant Hill grain has them but is sold out. My local guy has raw hulless oats but thet need to be stored in the freezer I may try. One more Amish store to try after the holidays. Thanks for watching.
@@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 If you store whole grains in a cool and dry place (up to 70deg. max)… and in a bucket to keep critters away…you should get up to 30 years of life . I’ve a friend that is just finishing up her storage grains from 2000…
Everything but oats stores well. Oats have oils that go rancid if not toasted to dry out. Plus they start loosing nutrition and flavor after a year if not frozen. I think buckwheat may be similar.

That is a beautiful loaf of bread, Ed. You have the grain grinding and Zojirushi use down to a science!

I also have heard that many times. The smell of fresh bread with no work for her changed her mind quickly .

Great looking bread. I like to remove the beater after last punch down before the last rise, so I don't have large holes in the bottom.
