- In a video shared on social media where the superstar meets with a fan in backstage at his recent Miami gig, some fans of The Weeknd declared that they heard the Canadian singer speak for the first time, although the singer has been heard speaking multiple times before, in cases such as interviews, movies, etc. Some even compared The Weeknd’s speaking voice to that of talk show host Trevor Noah.

His on stage persona is completely different than he is in real life.

@Cris Dav i can explain that as someone from toronto here! we do have accents similar to those from places like new york or baltimore (and being that ny is literally right across our border it makes sense) depending on where in toronto you're from, others might have a flat or valley girl esque accent which depends again on where in toronto they're from so hope that explains it 😁
Honestly saying someone has a Canadian accent makes about as much sense as saying someone has an American accent! Someone from east coast Canada would sound completely different from west coast....just like someone from Minnesota sounds nothing like someone from Chicago. 🙆

His high voice allows him to sing, not the other way round haha. Speaking softly and slightly higher tho is good practice to maintain your voice while not singing though

His main outfit from After Hours also happens to bed red, which was the color of another iconic music/horror themed outfit 👀
