That’s the first time I’ve had the first like. Must be my lucky day. I ended up getting the Sole bike carrier after your review, what great customer service. They didn’t have any inventory of the newest model with the ramp so the guy asked if I wanted a display model at a discounted price so that’s what I got. Easy on and off.
You will get more range running both batteries at the same time, but not more speed 48v is 48v regardless of the amp hours. The way the battery balancer works is if you have one battery at 80% and the other at 100% it will pull from the one with the higher charge until it equals the other battery, then it will drain both equally, you don't have to turn the bike off to switch to the second battery. After the battery drains to a certain percentage it will lose speed which is why it goes faster after you turn the second one on if it has a higher charge. Running both at the same time is more efficient. Great video, by the way.
@@johntinglin7280 On another channel a RUclipsr posted that he contacted Meelod and the CSR said to "depress both brake levers." Yeah, that's not an answer to the disable cruise control question. I figure at some point a RUclipsr or ten will come up with a way to re-code e-bike controllers so we can get max power and get rid of coded features we don't want.
Hey Scott always enjoy your reviews . I have noticed that you use a large black app with white fonts on your bikes that shows the speed, etc . where do you get this app and the name please ? .. explain please thanks
I like the look 👍 I just purchased the amyet s8 it Is a 48 volt dual motor with full suspension and hydraulic brakes. I will be doing a video review on it also
I did not find a seat. I ended up selling the bike. Even though this thing is a beast, I seem to keep bikes that are easier to pedal. Maximum Charge did upgrade his seat to the DK300Max. You should check out his upgrades video.
Thanks! Any ultra long range bikes that are easier to peddle that you've liked? I'm looking for 60+ miles realistic range only bikes, not just ones claiming it that fall short.
@@mandaloresmercy Actually, they all fall short. When they test these bikes, they have 140-160lb rider in PAS 1 on flat land with zero hill and no wind. This is why I ride these things til they die (or close to it) to give a real world test. Although, if you were riding it normal and not doing all the testing I do with them, they bikes would go farther. I just like to present the worst case scenario. The only bike I have reviewed that I know will go the distance is the Aventon Ramblas.
@scotthardesty thanks for the honesty, yeah I'm trying to find something that falling short still means about 70+ miles. So if it's advertising 120 miles but can do 70 that is likely good enough for me
For now I actually did pick up a meelod dk300 Max. Hoping it lasts, I tried commuting on it and I'd say it's pretty good! Heavy in some circumstances but otherwise manageable
Have you found a better seat for this bike? If so, can you share it with me? I'm looking into getting this bike but I'd prefer not having my butt hurt when I'm done riding it lol
I have reached out the company but nothing yet. It might have to be something made custom. If you don't plan on riding 25-49miles in one ride you will be fine. hahahaha
The maximum charge review has a after market seat with a link on his video. I just ordered this bike yesterday, I wonder how long it will take to receive my new bike, I can't wait to ride this bike!!
Man it kinda sounds like that front motor has stripped planetary gears cheap nylon is what most these things come with i suggest replacing them with stainless gears what i do with all mine can get them for like 40 bucks usually
Switching between batteries doesn't increase amps it's 40 amp hours. All that does is give you more range. Keeping one off then turning it on will just equalize the two packs. To have a true backup keep only one on at a time. Or just burn them together all the time. Hope this helps. Sure it may feel like more power but that's just the 2nd batteries voltage recharging the 1st battery a bit.
@@Sef-Lo I looked at the video. The speed setting I put it was 92 Km. That equals 57 Mph. The reason the bike only went that speed with me was because NOT because I set it at 92%, it was because I weight 225lbs with another 10lbs of equipment. I am sure you weight less than I do allowing you to go faster.
@@scotthardesty Tbh I’m highly doubtful they would put the limit at or above 57mph considering it goes about half that. But i couldn’t tell you for certain
Bike looks great - BUT, I'm afraid it's people like you who will get these bikes banned! You ride FAAAAR TOO fast when around people and dogs! 25MPH, passing people within inches; people not looking towards you, who may not be aware that you're approaching from behind, and approaching VERY fast. If one person, or their dog, even on a lead, was to take one step to the left or right, you would have zero chance to stop, and could cause serious injury! STOP giving e-bike riders a bad name and SLOW DOWN on footpaths. Thumbs down for your complete lack of concern for other people and their safety!
The Gopro makes it look like inches when it is not. Same way on how it makes hills look flat. Thanks for the concern but since I do live in a city with millions of people, I've got this. I get passed on the time by young hids on analog bikes burning thru these trails, it won't be me that gets these bikes banned. As a matter of fact, ALL CHICAGO TRAILS are approved for Class 3 ebikes.
You realize that is not a Class 3 bike if you're throttling above 20mph, right? If you don't qualify as an ebike you don't get bicycle privileges and cannot ride in bike lanes or paths. You're the reason why people hate ebikes and why we're facing draconian legislation around the country. Thanks Gomer...
Just ordered mine last night! Thanks for the detailed review 👍
Glad I could help!

Has anyone figured out how to disable the automatic cruise activation when using the throttle?

Did you have to put a system password to get into the settings? When I do that it asks for a system password
Yeah, I show you the password in the review.

The long wheel base should make for a great ride but the price is to much more like 1200 would be much better
I believe they do have a $1200 version but it won't be AWD.

Putting 29-30mph on the screen was a disservice to Meelod considering the fact the speed was limited to 92%
