    Appreciate this series! Looking to get into more free diving and bringing my son along on that journey. Similar to you I'm in the same boat 6'2" and skinny 😉, may check out the custom route.

    Thanks for the video! If you would like to try a spearfishing/freediving mask the C4Carbon Condor might be a great fit for you. No hard parts on the mask, small volume and a ton of visibility. When new the defogging process is a bit of a hassle but the 2 I have, have become my absolute favorites.

    This is great information. I'm heading to the Bahamas on a sailboat this winter and was going to try and spear my own food. But I'm a total n00b. I am a SCUBA diver, but have never free dived, so I'm looking for any information on beginning spear fishing.

    Have you tried a head strap for the GoPro instead, my camera mask hurts my head also so I find I use my favorite mask with a GoPro head strap super convenient especially with a wetsuit or rash guard it's really not noticeable at all

      haha I know all about em! and yea we get a ton down here, just don't make it inshore very often like they do there. normally get swept north in the Gulf Stream. I see them offshore fishing all the time.

    What are your thoughts on DiveR fins? They are my top choice for freediving, especially due to their Innegra material, which offers greater durability than carbon fiber. I also really enjoy my Garmin MK2S watch, which I use daily as a smartwatch and also for running, biking, and swimming. Do you know how it stack up against Suunto? Lastly, are you sponsored by Neptonics? I've noticed your preference for their products and am curious if it's due to sponsorship or personal choice. Thanks, and I enjoy your videos!

    • @KeyWestWaterman
      @KeyWestWaterman  Месяц назад +1

      I've never personally kicked a pair, the few I've handled in the past felt heavy. Maybe a different material. But everyone I know who kicks them loves them. Alchemy is the one carbon fin I've never snapped. And I dive hard. Never used a Garmin, I don't use all those other features, I just want a dive watch. That particular Suunto is just for freediving doesn't have the other features. And I am not sponsored by Neptonics, they actually don't do sponsorships. I've been buying their products since I first started spearfishing and have never been disappointed. Ive been buying for them for so long I asked if they'd be willing to do a promo code for my viewers which they were kind enough to do. I don't push products I don't personally use or believe in.

    Great video. I have a DJI OSMO and have bought 3 underwater cases for it. They all leaked or fogged up. I have cleaned and greased the orings but nothing helps. They were about $15 each on Amazon. What kind of case do you use? Love the camera better than my go pro, but I don’t have the leaky problem with the go pro.

    • @KeyWestWaterman
      @KeyWestWaterman  Месяц назад

      I use the DJI dive housing they sell, I never use the aftermarket stuff from Amazon when it comes to that type of accessory. I have 3 dive housings for my DJI's ( I have several of the cameras) and they are all DJI brand and have never had an issue with it. If you have an issue with fogging I just stick some pieces of paper towel in the housing.

    What is the speed difference between the long fins and the shorter fins? When you swim against the currents in the back country (mangroves), will the short fins work against a strong current?

    • @KeyWestWaterman
      @KeyWestWaterman  Месяц назад

      You're gonna get more "kick" or thrust from the longer blades, thats what they are used for. I like the small ones when going through tight areas, or where I don't need that extra kick to get down deep. and speed depends on the person, I can fight the current just fine with the shorties, but I spend a lot of time in the water.

      love to hear it! really depends on the shape of your foot, flatter wider foot. I love the pathos pockets. Alot of people like the C4's ive never used them but seem to be better for a more narrow foot.
